These laws are made for all; from the highest to the lowest, for the oldest to the youngest, male and female unlike shall be ruled by these laws, for there is are the laws of the Clan O'Sliabh by which all may live in peace and harmony, so that they may learn the Hidden Mysteries, practice the Art Magickal, grow and developed together and the worship of the Ancient Ones.

Any who cannot abide by these Laws have no place within the Clan O'Sliabh. All who would join us, shall be required to know these Laws there ere they join Clan O'Sliabh

Clan Law

 

1. Hierarchy

1a. ~ The Guardian shall rule the Clan in totality, using Justice, Mercy, Strength and Power According to the Law.

1b. ~ The Guardian shall have the rights of veto as any Clan Council.

1c. ~ The Guardian may be either a man or a woman.

1d. ~ The Guardian may, from time to time, rule in absentia, nominating a suitable person to act as Custodian.

1ei. ~ The Custodian shall not have the same authority as the Guardian, but only what is set out within the Warrant.

1eii. ~ The Custodian shall be answerable to the Guardian upon his or her return.

1eiii. ~ Should of the Guardian desire to retire, he or she will, before they Clan Council, appoints the new Guardian.

1eiv. ~ Should the Guardian be incapacitated by death or misfortune and be unable to read turn, may buy written notice, appoints a successor. Should this not occur, the Clan Council shall elect a new Guardian.

1ev. ~ All will vote if they wish to remain within the Clan.

1evi. ~ Should be appointee refuse nomination, the members shall vote on a new Guardian.

1evii. ~ Those members desiring to leave may do so, breaking all ties and remembering their vows of silence.

1eviii. ~ The remaining members shall swear a knew oath of fealty to the new Guardian.

1fi. ~ The Guardian shall choose from within the Clan, a member of the opposite gender to be the Consort.

1fii. ~ If the Consort be a female, she's shall be titled Senior Priestess, or if she has attained the 4th degree, she's shall be known as the High Priestess.

1fiii. ~ If the Consort be a male, the shall be titled Senior Priest, or if he has attained the 4th degree, he shall be in nine as the High Priest.

1fiv. ~ It is better than the Consort be of the 4th degree, however one who as attained the third degree may be suitable.

1fv. ~ If necessary, one of the first or second degree’s may be chosen.

1fvi. ~ Unless the Consort be of the 4th degree, he or she shell step down when ritual requirements would dictate one of a higher degree be needed.

1fvii. ~ Should the Guardian and the Consort have a personal relationship apart from the Clan, the Consort may become the Natural Working Partner of the Guardian.

1fviii. ~ If the Consort be chosen because of this personal relationship, the order she may be chosen for a period of not more than 13 Full Moons, at that time, he or she, will step down, but may be re chosen for a number period.

1fix. ~ Under these circumstances the Consort should at times stand aside to allow other Priests or Priestesses gain experience as part of their training and allowing the Consort to learn from the teaching aspect.

1fx. ~ The guardian of may prefer not to choose a Working Partner.

1fxi. ~ Thus the order she shall choose from suitable Clan Members, a Consort on a rotational basis for a period of one Full Moon.

1fxii. ~ The Consort shall be chosen as be chosen at the Full Moon prior to the moon Luna Ritual, allowing him or her to officiate.

1fxiii. ~ It is essential that the Consort step down at the appointed time, even though they may be re chosen, to ensure that all realise that the appointment is not permanent; northern theirs by right. Thus also will play learn and demonstrate tolerance, humility, maturity, obedience and thus value their position and power.

1fiv. ~ The Consort shall rule of according to the Law, and is answerable only to the Guardian stop

1gi. ~ Senior Priests and Senior Priestesses shall be addressed as Master or Mistress.

1gii. ~ High Priests and High Priestesses shall be addressed as Lord or Lady.

1giii. ~ The Guardian shall be addressed as My Lord Guardian or Domini.

1giv. ~ The Consort shall be addressed as My Lady Consort or Domina.

1hi. ~ The Guardian with the assistance of the Consort, at every New Moon, shelled choose a female who shall be in nine as the Maiden.

1hii. ~ The Maiden shall be chosen irrespective of degree of initiation and age.

1hiii. ~ The Maiden is responsible only to the Consort and the Guardian.

1hiv. ~ The Maiden shall be known as Luna, and represents all that is young and fresh.

1Ii. ~ The Guardian with the assistance of the Consort, at every Dark of the Moon, shall choose a male who shall be in nine as the Keeper.

1Iii. ~ The Keeper shall be chosen irrespective of the degree of initiation and age will stop

1Iiii. ~ The Keeper is responsible only to the Consort and Guardian.

1Iiv. ~ The Keeper represents security and discipline; and none may know his name.

 
 

2. Security

2Ai. None of the Clan, shall speak of the Clan, to any who are not of the Clan, unless:

2Aii. A special dispensation has been given at a Clan Council Meeting, and:

2Aiii. Only specified information may be spoken about.

2B. It is better to deny all knowledge of the Clan, events to allow a breach of Clan Security.

2Ci. Members may at times by necessity, associate with those who are members of other of Occult Groups.

2Cii. Whilst it is only human for who are young in the Clan, all who are new arrivals upon the Occult Path, to indulge in some boasting and bragging, or just showing off. Of those indulging in these activities, only show a lack of maturity, by demonstrating their lack of true knowledge. They spot light themselves as a target for inquiry, criticism and possibly some persecution. Not only the culprit/s but their friends, family and associates may be placed under the eye of interested persons.

2Ciii. If you'll interested should become known, you may be asked directly if you belong to own group; which group your belong to; where you meet; when you meet; who you'll associate with; where you obtained your training, and for the extent of your knowledge. Persons making such inquiries oft do so in such a way as to lean due to believe that the Inquirer has a full and complete knowledge of your status. All members should take note of this, and tactics such as are known as "Fishing".

2Civ. There is more power in maintaining silence; adopting a mystical approach, asking questions, perceiving the true answers and answering none.

2Cv. Any inquiries must be reported to the Guardian especially should they be other Occultists issuing social invitations.

2D. Clan Members may not attend any Occultists Group's function either social formal, under less authorised by the Guardian preferably at a Clan Meeting.

2Ei. None of the Clan shall divulge any information about another Member except to the Guardian.

2Eii. Only the Guardian shall have the Clan Tabularium.

2Eiii. The Guardian shall be the contact points for all in coming and outgoing information.

2F. Clan Members shall only being known by their Clan Name.

2Gi. True Names, Addresses and Telephone Numbers shall be given by one member once they are satisfied about personal security.

2Gii. The Guardian must be notified wins such information is divulged.

2Hi. Should any member of the Clan leave for any reason whatsoever, Clan members shall void him or her.

2Hii. In the eyes of the Clan, it is as if the ex member were dead.

2Hiii. It is likely that at a mundane level, it is impossible to avoid the ex member totally.

2Hiv. The Clan Council shall discuss future associations with ex members.

2Hv. Members will treat the ex member as though the Clan did not exist, making no reference to it in any way whatsoever; answer any comment, about the Clan or its members; and deny any knowledge of the Clan. Remember that oft persons who have left, may have done so under a shadow and may be quite vicious and attempt to discredit the Clan or its members.

2Hvi. Report any for gossip, harassment, or suspicion of such to the Guardian only in an honest and truthful manner, neither own meeting nor adding fictional matter.

2Hvii. The Guardian will inform the Clan Council of the facts and other relevant details as he or she deems necessary.

2Hviii. A Council shall decide what's in general steps shall be taken to protect concerned Clan members and the Clan.

2I. Notwithstanding the above sections (2hi - 2hviii inclusive), a member may be granted a Leave of Absence.

2J. A member who has left, may read shortly in if the Clan Council deems it fitting. It should be remembered that at times a member may leave for reasons of family or work, and a leave of absence may not have been granted because that member had no idea if and when they may return to the Clan area.

2K. For reasons of security, some knowledge is kept to a needed to know basis.

 
 

3. Visitors

3a. From time to time, the Clan may entertain visitors, either individuals or groups.

3b. Visitors shall be invited to either assist in lectures or to participate in rites.

3c. In all cases, the Guardian shall use his or her discretion as to do and how many may be invited.

3d. Invitations will be discussed at a Clan Council.

3e. At no time shall members divulge their name, phone number, or address to visitors.

3f. When visitors at present, is all shall use the Clan Name and or Title.

 

4. New Members

4a. Potential new members will attend a series of information lectures.

4b. Less lectures are to be divided into two parts each being of seven weeks.

4c. No person attending shall be given any indication that others may wish to join.

4d. At the end of the first seven weeks, those wishing to continue, must undergo an the rite of awakening.

4e. Seekers who undergo this is rite come of their own volition.

4f. At the completion of the second 13 weeks, those showing potential may be desirous of joining the Clan. Such persons are required to make a written application no earlier than 48 hours following the final lecture.

4g. Upon receiving such applications arrangements will be made for each applicants to be examined separately.

4h. For applicants to be considered for Clan Membership, all requisites will be met.

 

5. Regalia

5ai. The Guardian shall wear what ever to colour and style he or she chooses. Red, white, purple, silver or gold and would be suitable for a robe or chasuble.

5aii. Trousers of black and a jacket of white is suitable.

5aiii. A grey or purple cloak may be worn.

5aiv. A double gold cingulum is worn.

5av. The weapon is a sword and staff.

5bi. The Consort shall wear robes of the degree of his or her initiation.

5bii A purple cloak may be worn.

5biii. A double silver cingulum may be worn.

5biv. If the Consort is not of the fourth degree, I'll white sash is worn under the cingulum.

5bv. A pectoral in silver and suspended on a chain is worn. The pectoral depicts the waxing and waning moon.

5ci. The Maiden shall wear a robe of lilac.

5cii. She shall wear a double white cingulum.

5ciii. A pectoral in silver depicting the horizontal crescent moon suspended by a chain is worn.

5di. The Keeper shall wear a robe of black.

5dii. The Keeper shall wear the bronze chain girt about his waste.

5diii. He shall remain coweled and masked.

5div. A pectoral in gold depicting a sun burst suspended on a chain is worn.

5ci. The Fledgling shall wear ordinarily clean clothes.

5cii. During the Awakening Rite, they, initially wear a nondescript cloak, but shall robe in black with a black cingulum.

5f. The First Degree Initiate shall wear a robe of green and a cingulum of brown.

5g. The Second Degree Initiate shall wear a robe of light blue and a cingulum of dark blue.

5h. The Third Degree Initiate shall wear a row of pale yellow and a cingulum of rose pink.

5i. The Fourth Degree Initiate shall wear a robe of white and cingulum of red.

5j. All robes shall have a cowl attached.

5k. Cingulum is shall be nine feet in length, doubled and knotted four times.

5l. Abhamatas shall be worn at all times.

5m. Robes, masks and decorations shall be of an approved pattern or style.

5n. The designated weapon is shall be: Guardian ~ Sword and Staff.

Consort ~ Grail or Cauldron.

Maiden ~ Censor.

Keeper ~ Axe or Spear.

 

6. Duties & Areas of Responcibility

 

6a. The Guardian shall be responsible for the over all running and activities of the Clan, including: teaching, rituals, testing, initiations, laws and discipline.

6b. The Consort shall assist the Guardian in some administrative areas, all social activities of the Clan, organisation of the agape, robing, and supervision of new members and guests.

6c. The Maiden, shall assist in the agape, festive occasions, supervision of new members and guests and the maintaining of the burning of incense.

6d. The Keeper shall assist in the supervision of new members and guests, keeping discipline, guarding Portals and/or the Sacred Places.

6e. Each shall designate tasks to others as required, blasts are still responsible for those tasks.

6f. Special tasks and duties apply to certain Rites and Councils. These tasks and those responsible for them are shown within the appropriate formats.

6gi. The Custodian will act upon the authority set out within the Warrant.

6gii. The Warrant shall set out the specific duties, responsibilities and other details.

6giii. The Custodian may not act outside the terms of the Warrant.

6giv. The Warrant shall be read aloud to the Clan prior to the Guardian installing the Custodian.

6gv. Clan members may question the Custodian if he or she appears to act outside the terms of the Warrant.

6gvi. Upon the return of the Guardian officially, the Warrant shall be immediately revoked.

 

 

7. Obligations, Loyalty & Ethics

 

7ai. The Clan loyal unto itself above all else.

7aii. Each member is loyal to the clan above all else.

7aiii. The Clan that is loyal to the Guardian as a fAmily is loyal to its Head, and the Tribe is loyal to its Chief.

7aiv. Each member is loyal to the Guardian.

7av. This loyalty enables the Clan to surmount fears, obstacles and work within the Art Magickal in harmony and peace.

7bi. The Clan is obliged to use all of its power to provide the necessary assistance for members in times of difficulty or need.

7bii. Each member is obliged to follow the Law in both letter and intent.

7biii. Members are obliged to be ever vigilant and maintain the security of the Clan and to report any incursions immediately.

7biv. All members have an obligation to attend meetings, especially if they have specific duties, or the meeting is one of the festivals. Members who cannot attend, must notify the Guardian at the earliest time. Members will also be punctual.

7ci. It is considered not ethical to boast about personal achievements.

7vii. It is considered not ethical to demean or belittle a member.

7ciii. It is considered not ethical to attempt to gain ascendancy over another member for moral, personal, physical, financial or sexual gain.

7civ. Than this use of power in any form is not ethical.

7cv. It is both ethical and responsible to request advice and an explanation should a member feel they have been wronged.
