CAL progress:
By: Remedy

Right now MIA is off to a shaky start. Already we were forced into two forfeit wins. The de_nuke forfeit win will be made-up in the future, but it's still regrettable a forfeit happened in the first place. The two matches we played, result-wise, were low scores on our part; however, considering this is the first season of CAL for almost all of our members, it's a good start.

To all our members, remember to practice hard regularly, most importantly with the AK. Many of us still seem to struggle with it with the biggest mistake being moving while shooting. With the AK, patience is a virtue, so take your time, pace your shots, burst properly, and take the time to aim and I guarantee you'll notice a significant improvement in your playing.

As of today, the forum will no longer have ads. I made the $5 purchase for it, which I think was worth it considering how much we use it, enjoy =).

The glory of Christmas!:
By: Remedy

MIA wishes all our supporters, both member and non-member alike, a very Merry 2006 Christmas. This is MIA's 2nd Christmas together and we want to thank EVERYONE for EVERYTHING they have done for MIA, even if that simply means posting on our forum. It's not the admins that keep a clan together, it's the clan's supporters and we want to thank all these supporters for everything they have done to make MIA one of the best clans I've had the priviledges of administrating =).

The horror of Christmas...:
By: Remedy

With the coming of Christmas brings good news for many, but for clans in general, Christmas brings nightmares. Every CS:S clan-member can't resist the temptation to purchase new PC/Console games. These new games bring into question whether the member will stay dedicated to CS:S and their clan - will they become increasingly inactive or will they quit CS:S altogether? In addition, many schools and colleges are doing first semester finals. As if thing's couldn't get any worse, CAL is in off-season, which for many is a perfect time to quit and find other clans or games. These obstacles linger on the minds of many clans, both small and large and alas, MIA is feeling this anxiety.

Obviously, clan admins can't expect their members to function actively and efficiently under these circumstances, so our advice is to "let it go." We encourage everyone to enjoy their Christmas and not feel any obligations to any responsibilities whatsoever. This includes clan responsibilities. I'm certain everyone will enjoy their Christmas much more as a result =). Obviously, this disregard will hurt our clan, but then again, every other clan will be taking a hit to and ours is no exception.

MIA's member-base status:
By: Remedy

MIA in this recent month lost several members, including Azn, Raisinbagel, TumTum, Feda, and Kelu. These members comprised a significant portion of our clan-base and were excellent members in their own right. They will all be missed and we wish them the best of luck in their future clan endeavours.

It's no lie their departure left a huge vacuum in our member roster. Many questions surrounded MIA - would MIA be taking a break from CS:S? Would MIA be quitting? Thankfully, neither! We are pleased to say MIA is going to continue despite these circumstances. MIA has been around now for a whopping year and a half now - it will take more than a member vacuum to stop us! =) We just have to get up, dust ourselves off, and look to the future.

MIA will, essentially, be starting from scratch with a lot of new members. Who these members will be is unknown, but if you're reading this and you are interested then you could be one of them! =) Simply leave a topic in our  "Interested in Joining Us?" section in our forum. We appreciate it!

Admin restructuring:
By: Remedy

As many of you already know, Dominator was given the position of admin recently. Already he is doing an excellent job and we are continuing to pledge him our support and wish him the best of luck. Bustin is also doing a phenomenal job and along with me, the two of us are easing Dominator's transition to admin as smoothly as possible.

Regarding me, I've elected to take a backseat to MIA's administrative policies. I will still pledge myself as admin; however, I'm letting Dominator and Bustin take front-stage both because of my work/college responsibilities and the fact my financial situation is causing complications with our CS:S NFO server. Plus I believe it is a great opportunity to give them administrative learning experience.

Again, we wish you all a Merry 2006 Christmas! =)

CAL/TWL League progress + Hardware issues
By: Remedy

MIA is now heading into its 4th week of CAL (5th if you count preseason). Thus far we've done fairly well, with a win to kickstart the CAL season and a close match in Inferno. Usually the starting CAL season is always the hardest, but we've managed to prove those odds wrong with a stellar performance. I can already tell MIA is much more competitively oriented than ever before and we have the enthusiasm and strong activity from several of our members to thank for that.

There is still no word as to TWL's starting league date. To all our members, when the TWL league commences, expect matches to be either Thursday or Friday at 9pm EST. In the meantime, MIA will continue scrimmaging on TWL ladders to kill time.

I also want to take the time to recognize the problematic issues MIA had regarding disconnections and other hardware related issues in our prior Inferno match. For those who don't know, MIA had five members (yes, five) who suffered from issues pertaining to either their in-game performance or failure to attend the match. I've already personally consulted with those involved and while I didn't get responses back from everyone, I trust they all recognized that this is an alarming issue that needs to be resolved. There are many CAL teams out there that manage to attend and play CAL just fine with a bare six man roster, so I know MIA can attend and play with as much as eleven.

Tosser's 2vs2 Tourney:
By: Remedy

Tosser's 2vs2 tourney is now underway for all who signed up! The participation seems high with an outstanding eight teams of two players each. Even though not everyone participating is an MIA member, it's reassuring to know we have such an active and enthusiastic community. For more information about the 2vs2 tourney, the rules, and the participants, please click here.

Webpage updates:
By: Remedy

I fixed the broken rank sysmbols in the member roster page.

In addition, my strategy guide pointing out images of ALL the bombplant spots for ALL the de maps MIA members should be planting at is still underway. Again, this guide will help resolve any confusion regarding where our members should plant the bomb. Of course, to insure opposing teams don't sneak a peek, the guide will be passworded.
