Kelpies

Kelpies are typically thought of as evil creatures and are fiercly solitary. They can however be forced into submission by the will of a stronger creature. Typically a Fairy of the Unseelie court has the power to call and force a Kelpie for the purposes of transportation (not to be attempted by someone without a great deal of power or they will end up under water for a long time.)

Kelpies take pleasure out of killing mainly by drowning and enjoy luring people into the water so that they can pull them under.

They can however be bribed for the right price though typically they want a life for a life. Kelpies are not to be trusted.

In Scottish folklore, a kelpie would lure people onto its back and then dive into a deep lake to magically vanish. A kelpie's bridle could work magic if stolen; conversely, a human bridle on a kelpie could compel it to work for a human. (See Wikipedia for other folklore and information that can be incorporated into a Kelpie bio.)

Other Water Folk

- Undines: Connection to water
- Sirens: Typically not very nice.

If you wish to play either an Undine or a Siren please refer to Wikipedia for more information and let me know. I have not sent up any sort of political/personal or social structures for these two groups of sea Folk. But I can put something together, and am open to ideas if you feel like being creative or wish to suggest an idea. Krazysidhe@gmail.com
