Columbia Kids Preschool & Sprouting Seeds School

Columbia Kids Cooperative Preschool offers a very special curriculum of children and parents working and learning together.  Parents have an opportunity to be actively involved in the classroom though a supportive and unique Parent Education course offered in cooperation with Clark College.  We believe children learn by doing and offer a hands-on learning environment.  Within the classroom there are opportunities for fine and gross motor play, imaginative play, plus activities encouraging pre-reading, writing, and mathematics development.  First and foremost, our classroom environment encourages creative learning.

We believe that each child is a precious individual, deserving of respect for his/her unique qualities, and deserving of loving guidance in developing to his/her fullest potential.  We strive to accept each child as he/she is, so that the child can be receptive to us and accept our guidance.  We assume that each child will think and play creatively, discover and use his/her own resources, and develop inner controls.

Our part, we believe, is to provide the atmosphere, the environment, the experiences, and the direction that will help the child discover his/her self.  Our primary goal is to promote in the child self-acceptance, self-reliance, and a sense of pride and confidence.  Since we feel that this is best encourages in an affectionate, non-coercive, stress-free atmosphere, we use a positive approach to discipline, believing that this will foster a positive self-concept in the child.

Class times/scheduling:

Preschool classes are held Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am until 11:30 am.

A child enrolled in 2 days/week is typically Mondays-Wednesdays or Tuesdays-Thursdays.

The typical 3 days/week schedule is Mondays-Wednesdays-Fridays.

Other scheduling arrangements can be made.

2007/2008 Tuition and Fees:

$190/quarter (10 weeks) for 2 days/week attendance

or

$285/quarter (10 weeks) for 3 days/week attendance

and

$33/quarter for Clark College Tuition
