CBS organized because rapid & poorly planned growth threatens the quality of our air, land & water.
OUR MISSION
Growth is good and inevitable.
Farmers have the right to sell their land to whomever they wish.
Developers need to make a profit in order to stay in business.
There is no waiting period to get full rights as a Sussex County citizen.
There is no great divide between eastern and western Sussex County.
Growth without planning leads to sprawl.
Developers can make a profit without harming our environment.
Most members of the present County Council
do not recognize the importance of linking growth
with adequate and careful planning, including effective coordination with state agencies like
DelDOT and DNREC.
Live in houses with adequate sewer/septic systems.
Drink safe water.
Breathe pure, fresh air.
Drive, bike, and walk safely on well-maintained and uncongested roads and walkways.
Know that the police, firefighters, and medics are close by when you need them.
Fish and crab in our waterways.
Some members of the state legislature and the Sussex County Council have turned our concerns into an “us versus them” issue.
