Citibank Park

This page is dedicated to Citibank Park, located on Courthouse Drive in Central Islip.  It has been the home of the Atlantic Baseball League's Long Island Ducks since 2000.  This site will talk about the team, as well as a charity baseball game held there on September 10, 2005 to benefit QSAC, Quality Services for the Autism Community.

The Long Island Ducks

The Long Island Ducks played their first game in April 2000 (and lost). I would go to my first game over the Memorial Day weekend (it was quite chilly) to see them play the Aberdeen Arsenal, and win.  Here is a picture from the game.

My fire company had purchased seasons tickets each year since 2000, and every member gets two sets per year.  I have therefore been able to go at least twice a year to the "Big Citi".

The Annual Blood Drive

Every year the Long Island Ducks sponsor a blood drive, usually held in the end of June or July.  The donors meet in the visitors' locker room and the "blood suckers" do their thing.  So besides helping others and getting free goodies, members of the team are also there giving blood themselves or talking to the donors and signing autographs.  I gave in 2002 and 2003, but illnesses prevented me in 2004 and 2005.  Hopefully in 2006.
