Chepterit Initiative for Social Conscience Organization (CISCO) registered
as a community based organization on May 14, 2006 and
has a membership of 84 community members. CISCO is located in the Rift Valley Province, Nandi
North District, Kosirai Division, Chepterit Location of Kenya. It is about 50km south of Eldoret and 5km north of Kapsabet.
CISCO is comprised of youth from the local community who are committed
to the common goal of fostering a social conscience: identifying contentious
problems in society and finding ways to solve them. The mission of CISCO is to
strive for and champion the social conscience – through advocating for the welfare
of humanity, the environment and a diverse society.
CISCO achieves its development goals by recognizing problems and working
as a team through its established departments. Departments include Agriculture
and Small Business, Water and Sanitation, Community Development and HIV/AIDS
Support and Resource. Each department has a department leader, secretary and
project managers who specialize in their field. Project managers focus on engaging
members in sustainable community development projects. This allows CISCO to
utilize and develop its capacity to become a very active CBO with high
standards, sound ethics and measurable goals.

CISCO is to realize the power of the dream. CISCO would like to become a unique community resource that has the capacity to face the challenges of everyday living and find easy cost efficient solutions that will benefit the overall wellbeing of society.
Objectives
CISCO strives to work hard for the good sake of upgrading the community
and the diverse society in all peripheries of all social and economic activities.
