The Cirillo Summer Theatre, located at the L. P. Wilson Community Center, 599 Matianuck Avenue, Windsor, CT is a quality youth theatre program for students and young adults ages 8 - 24. Each season, our two age appropriate divisions produce two musicals. Our younger division rehearses afternoons, while our senior division rehearses weekday evenings. There's something for everybody at the Cirillo Summer Theatre! And while we are sponsored by the Town of Windsor, we welcome students from any and all communities. 2010 Season Kicks Off
The 2010 theatrical season gets underway on December 29 at 6:30 P.M. at the L. P. Wilson Community Center, 599 Matianuck Ave. in Windsor, CT, with our Annual Winter Meeting. Students and young adults, ages 8 - 24, are invited to attend. At this meeting, show selections for our senior and junior divisions will be divulged. All will be able to find out important information about the upcoming shows--staff, rehearsal schedules, etc. SENIOR DIVISION ACTORS SHOULD BOOK AN AUDITION APPOINTMENT AT THIS MEETING! (Following the meeting, contact suejvin@cox.net to schedule an audition and to get more information.) Junior division students should sign up, at this meeting, to be on our e-mail list so as to receive important updates. Those who want to work backstage, students and adults, should attend as well to learn of available opportunities. Instrumentalists interested in participating in our live orchestra for the senior division show should also attend.
Note that, in general, age guidelines for actors in the two divisions are as follows: 8-14 Junior Division; 14 - 24 Senior Division. However, there are two children's roles in our senior division show for which boys and girls under the age of 14 may audition. In addition, for both divisions, we are encouraging additional male participation.
2010 Broadway Cabaret Show
Our annual Broadway Cabaret Show will take place on Saturday evening, January 16, 2010, at 7:30 P.M. at the L. P. Wilson Community Center, 599 Matianuck Ave., Windsor, CT. Students from our 2009 senior division production of Urinetown will perform a variety of Broadway musical hits from yesteryear and more contemporary shows. Junior Division Director, Karen Vinick, is responsible for organizing this event, and Sarah Laurenzano, Vocal Music Director for Urinetown, will put the singers through their paces. All of the performers, staff, and backstage personnel who work on the Cabaret are volunteers, and all proceeds will be donated to the theatre program for its 2010 shows. Artistic Director of the Cirillo Summer Theatre, Mrs. Susan Vinick, has advanced sale tickets available now. Contact her at suejvin@cox.net. Alternately, you may wait to purchase tickets at the door to the show. Tickets are $10.
