Musical Career: Employed in the 1960's by Harry Altman, owner of the Town Casino in Buffalo, New York, Chic was the lead musician and saxophonist in several jazz and rock ensembles including Chic and The Diplomats. Through Mr. Altman, he worked with several well-known performers such as: Wayne Newton, Sammy Davis Jr., Harry James, Ray Anthony, Dick Contino, and Jerry Vale. He was also featured in several other bands, including the Vibratos, Five O'Clock Rush, and the Fendermen.
Throughout his musical career Chic worked with several other performers: Jack McDuff, Bill Haley, Johnny Lee Hooker, George Benson, Grover Washington, Prof. Erwin Cory, the OJ's, and Gary Mallaber (of the Steve Miller Band). During his day as a musician, Chic appeared on several television shows such as The Joey Reynolds Show and the Tommy Shannon Show. He had a couple of records that were million-sellers, including the single "Ball and Chain," and "Tears" recorded by Ivanhoe Records.
