Additionally, Smegaroon Island has a judicial system and a small courthouse and prison on the far southern tip of the island. Criminal behaviour will not be tolerated and will be dealt with fairly but firmly. The Smegaroon Infirmary, on Richard Street, Smegaroon Island 01549 will attend to any medical problems. The Smegaroon Fire Department, on the same street, is additionally on hand should visitors need them. Please call 419 (from any phone on the island - a free call) for the emergency services. Telephones: Because of Smegaroon's location, some mobile / cell phones may not get reception. Satellite phone booths are available in all the main streets, and in most hotel rooms and restaurants. Smoking: Permitted in designated areas. Traditions/Customs: Smegaroon is much like any modern country and anything goes! We are proud of our cultural diversity and there is no set-in-stone Smegaroon culture. However, islanders have been known to greet each other with a cheerful, 'Top of the day', and to say goodbye with an equally cheerful, 'Remain blessed'.
