Master Kathy Dellaripa

Master Dellaripa has over 20 years experience in Taekwondo, as a black belt she competed in W.T.F. Sport Taekwondo Tournaments all across the Tri-State area. She has taken gold medals in not only sparring, but in forms and breaking as well. Her breaking techniques were so superior to her competitions she moved on to breaking in the men’s division. Where she continued to seize first place bringing home the gold, her sharp technique and explosive power proved to be number one where ever she competited.

Master Dellaripa showed she could be as elegant and graceful as she was powerful, taking first place in the forms competitions as well. She spent countless hours breaking down each part of the form, mastering all its intricate movements until it flowed perfectly as it was meant to be performed.

Sparring did not come as easy to Master Dellaripa, but being the strong determined woman she is that did not stop her from taking first place. She sparred in the training hall with higher ranked black belts, going up against male heavyweights and absorbing tremendous blows. Tapping tacks to the bottom of her feet to keep her on the balls of her feet at all times, making her faster and more explosive. Starting off competing in black belt division is no easy task; many would have chosen to not compete at that point. But she pushed forward never letting up until she was victorious.

With all her knowledge of competing in sport Taekwondo she became head coach of her school and has since lead dozens of students to National Championships. Coaching on not only a National level, but an international level as well her eye for talent and technique has even surpassed her extraordinary skill.

Branching out on her own she opened Chung Ma’s Olympic Taekwondo in 2004 under her original instructor Grand Master Chung Ma who has several schools and has been in the area for over 30 years, bringing countless champions to the sport and having taught many of the Masters who instruct today.

Mr. Sean Quick

Head instructor and manager of Chung Ma’s Olympic Taekwondo, Sean has over 11 years experience. As his instructors Master Dellaripa and Master Andrew Dedrick, Mr. Quick also competed all over the Tri-State area in W.T.F. Sport Taekwondo tournaments. Following their lead he won many gold medals in breaking, and took silver and gold in 5 state championships for sparring.

Under his Master's tutelage Mr. Quick has learned to not only be a good competitor but a great teacher as well. He was brought on to assist teaching as a green belt and taught junior belts with Master Dellaripa until he was able to teach classes on his own. He has taken part in training dozens of National Champions, with his own son under Master Dellaripa’s insightful coaching winning the U.S. Junior Olympics in 2002, with 200 sparring competitors from across the country in his division. It is from Master Dellaripa's influnce on his son and Master Dedricks influnce on him that he realized what it means to be a great coach. Master Dedrick with his vast experience coached Mr.Quick through to the finals in his last NY State championship. Master Dedrick also walked Mr. Quick through his first black belt tournament knowing what to tell him to do and more importantly what not to do, which saved him from getting hurt. It was then that Mr Quick realized a good coach dosen't just take a person to championship levels but knows what to do to keep them safe, and to always listen to your coah because they can see things you can't.

Mr. Quick has learned the explosive speed and power Taekwondo teaches you and is able to teach that superior technique to his students along with the discipline and respect needed to handle it responsibly. Mr. Quick prides himself on giving each student the special attention they need, helping to bring out the very best in every student.

Mr. Quick spends countless hours going over how to meet each students needs and plan group activities to keep the tight bond students develop in their training. Each class is run based on the students needs and ability, making sure the pace is neither to fast nor to slow.

It is expected that Mr. Quick will continue the tradition of turning out many champions in the sport, along with quality martial artists to pass on the torch.

Mr. Justin Semke

Mr. Symke has been training almost as long as he’s been alive; he began his training at age 4. Mr. Semke under Master Dellaripa has competed all across the country, winning dozens of state championships and competing several times on a National level. Attending the U.S. Junior Olympics and competing with the best black belts in the country.

Mr. Symke has always been mature beyond his years, even at a young age he was completely focused on his development both mentally and physically. He has always been a hard worker both in the gym and outside of it. He puts a tremendous amount of effort in his school work and school activities as well as his Taekwondo training.

He has recently made the transition from being a great competitor to an outstanding instructor. He brings a lot of enthusiasm and insight to the school and the students, training them as he was trained himself. To handle school, training, and a job can be extremely difficult but it is no surprise Mr. Symke handles them with ease.

Mr. Symke is a well rounded highly experienced black belt who no doubt will produce high quality students with superior technique. He is a fine addition to the teaching staff, and will soon experience the pleasure of watching his students develop into great martial artist, seeing his own technique in them.
