Chrysalis Youth & Community Project

Chrysalis Youth & Community Project is a multi-award winning charity that works with communities throughout the Wakefield District and North Yorkshire. We provide work based training, alternative education programmes and volunteering opportunities to a wide range of people.

Based on the Airedale estate in Castleford, the project works with local authorities, schools, pupil referral units and other voluntary and statutory organisations throughout Yorkshire to deliver a range of skills in a work based environment.

With two on-site social enterprises: Airedale Computer Recycling and Airedale Car Clinic which are run as not-for-profit enterprises to support Chrysalis Youth Project.

There is a dedicated education centre which can deliver excellent qualifications such as Motor Vehicle Mechanics, Building & Construction and Computer Maintenance & Repair.

Courses, training and volunteering can be customised to suit any level of learning and ability. We currently work with a range of agegroups from 10 to 70 with individual learning needs.

Chrysalis Youth & Community Project offer an exciting and innovative Alternative Education Programme to young people excluded or near exclusion from mainstream education. Chrysalis Youth and Community Project operate 2 Social Enterprises, Airedale Computer Recycling and Airedale Car Clinic which are run under Chrysalis's trading company Airedale Community Trading (ACT) LTD. These companies not only provided Chrysalis with a much needed income but also provide Regeneration and much needed Training to a disadvantaged area
