Welcome to my world, the Art Galore Gallery, where creative expression takes many forms.  From the painted canvas to the written word, from photography to furniture, I am forever discovering new ways to express my vision of the world.  Here you can experience my pastel landscapes, glitter and rhinestone magnets, painted furniture, crazy wall murals,  and some paintings I like to call "narrative art".  Every picture does indeed tell a story.   I hope you enjoy the journey as much as I have! My recent "sewing project" (see below) has blossomed into a new full blown artistic tangent!  I forgot how much I loved to sew.  Here are some pictures of my latest creations, something I like to call "PurseStrings".  These drawstring purses are constructed of material that my friend Jo Marie helped me dye (folded, not tied!).  Strips of the dyed fabric are sewn on cotton muslin using the string quilting method.  Each purse measures about 10" x 10" and includes a shoulder strap, drawstrings, and satin lining in coordinating colors.  I've become so fond of this pattern I've started naming each purse and writing a little poem about it.  How fun - and Corny!  Stay tuned for more colorful creations from the mind and hands of yours truly!

My next door neighbor, Molly Polk, is a high school junior and wants to learn how to sew.  I dusted off the old Singer sewing machine my Aunt Mamie left me and we went to town making this purse.  The strips of tie dyed material are remnants from my friend Jo Marie's textile design class at North Georgia College.  She gave me a sack full of very colorful designs.  Molly, her friend Shelby, and her sister Emily came over and we went through the remnants, making piles of pieces we thought would look good together.  This is our first project.  Check out our other projects, and pictures of our "Sewing Class", in the Sewing Projects album.
