A Step by Step guide to making a Paper Lantern.
This lantern is quite simple to make, I have described the process within
four pictured steps. It can even be designed to match the rest of your
Christmas decorations. For example; you could make it out of different
coloured paper, or decorate it with glitter.
You'll need:

♥ Glue

♥ A Ruler

♥ A Pencil

♥ Scissors

♥ A Cutting knife

♥ A Cutting board

♥ Two pieces of A4 papers.
WARNING !

- DO NOT place burning flame (candles) within the lantern

And always keep the paper decoration away from open flames.

- Children, please make this paper craft with parent supervision,

as it involves using a cutting knife.
Step 1. Take a piece of A4 paper, draw the square in the middle and the other
lines shown in blue using a pencil and a ruler.
Now connect the lines together to make an outline as shown in the second
drawing.    TIP = Keep to the measurements displayed, for a symmetrical
lantern.
Step 2. Draw the flaps (shown in green) on your outline and make an exact
copy of this drawing by carrying out 'Step 1.' again on the second A4 paper.
Step 3. On your outline (with the flaps) draw the design of windows with small
squares and blue lines for an outline as shown. Now cut out
the image by
cutting off the yellow coloured background.
Place the cutout shape on a cutting board and use a cutting knife to cut out the
"yellow bits" of windows shown. Do the same to the second copy of A4
drawing.
Step 4. By now you should have two finished templates. Place one over the
other so one of the bottom squares is on top of the other. Then glue the
squares to hold them in place.
Finnaly fold all the flaps marked by green outlines to the inside and glue them
together to make the paper lantern.
You're done (hooray!). The lantern should look like the picture above :)
