20/10-07____________
It have come a new message from Billie Joe and the NRDC:
This is a public service announcement from Yours Truly!
Toyota wants everyone to think they are green -- but behind
the scenes, theyare working against progress.
More than a million people bought a Prius hybrid from Toyota
because they want to do the right thing for our planet. Hybrid
cars are great because they can go many more miles on a gallon
of gas than a regular car can, so they put out less of the pollution
that is causing global warming.
Right now, Congress is working on a bill that could get car companies
to manufacture cars that are more like the Prius, cars that can go
an average of at least 35 miles on every gallon of gas. This would be
the first improvement in U.S. fuel economy standards in almost 20
years, and it would save America 1.2 million barrels of oil every day.
That is more oil than we import from Saudi Arabia.
But now Toyota is copping out. It's hard to believe, but the company
that makes the Prius and other super-efficient hybrids is trying to stop
Congress from taking the strongest possible action to make cars more
efficient.
Go to
nrdconline.org and tell Toyota to stop
lobbying against the 35 miles per gallon by 2020 standard!
The Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers -- the powerful lobbying group
that Toyota is an active member of -- is saying the goal of making cars by
2020 that get an average of 35 miles per gallon is "unattainable." That
makes no sense, since Toyota is making the Prius, which gets almost 50
miles per gallon, right now!
Toyota advertises itself as the greenest car company. That company needs
to walk the walk. Go to
greenday_globalwarming_toyota now. Tell Toyota to
stop fighting progress and start fighting global warming!
Thanks for taking action to reduce America's dangerous
dependence on oil.
Yours Truly,
Billie Joe Armstrong
Green Day + NRDC
P.S. If you or your family own a Toyota hybrid or are thinking
about buying one, please say that in your online message to Toyota.

Billie Joe sent a meil about Al Core won the Nobel Peace
Prize for his work on bringing focus to climate change.
"I just heard that Al Gore just won the Nobel Peace Prize
for his work in the fight against global warming. I think
it's great that this issue is finally getting the recognition
it deserves. It's becoming a part of our everyday lives. People
aren't just talking about it, we're really starting to live it.
And I feel that Al Gore has been very influential in bringing
this into the mainstream.
Kudos to you, Al Gore. Please do your part to help stop global
warming by telling Congress to pass tough global warming
legislation:

Billie Joe Armstrong

P.S. You can read more about Al Gore and the Nobel
Peace Prize at the
New York Times"
It's coming some new t-shirts design and a re-design on
GreenDay.com and it would not be long before we get some
news about the new album, but it could take long after the
article in Rolling Stone magazine with Billie Joe and talked about
the new material. He said they have about 45 songs, but they still
aren't sure what direction they're working in.
Billie mentions that most of the songs were written on the
piano and that he's still working to write music that seems
real to him.
"I want to dig into who I am and what I'm feeling at this
moment - which is middle-aged. We've been doing this for almost
twenty years now. You want to make sure you're being honest with
yourself. I also have to ask myself 'What's real out there?'
Right now, it seems stagnant"

Green Day was mentioned in Q's list of best
award ceremony moments. They talk about Billie
Joe walking up to a DJ at the end of an after
party and asking him to play 'When I Come Around'.
Apparently Billie Joe ended up being the only
person to go out and dance on the floor, to his
own music. They also mention that he was "very,
very drunk". Go

Billie Joe have sent out a messege to to Green Day + NRDC
members. He talks about a new documentary coming out about
climate change.
"Last week, Adrienne and I went to the premiere of
"The 11th Hour," Leonardo DiCaprio's new documentary
film. The movie is really great. You should check it
out (it opens in New York and Los Angeles on Friday
the 17th, and in other cities later this month).
"The 11th Hour" is intense. It tells us the truth that
nobody wants to hear: that human beings, especially
greedy corporate executives and their politician
cronies, are responsible for putting our planet in
serious danger. If things don't change soon, life on
Earth may not survive. It has to be this generation
that breaks the chain between the polluting corporations
and the crooked politicians, this generation that changes
its habits so there's something left for other species
and the people who come after us.
There IS hope. We can make changes in our everyday
lives, and most of the technology we need to move
forward, we already have today. What we really need
is the leadership, and the will, to change. You can
see the movie trailer at
Warnerbros
home site.
Go see the movie.
Thanks for your past GreenDay + NRDC activism.
Remember, you can always visit the site at
