By entering through this portal you are taking the first step toward pledging your life to something greater. You have been drawn here by the will of the Force to use your adept abilities in service to it. Those who follow the Way, are known as the Jedi. You have lived your life so far under the prevailing mythology that what matters is your own comfort, your own desires. You will have to unlearn what you have learned. You will become subject to the simple yet profound Wisdom of the Jedi. You will learn to follow the Way of the Lost Teachings of the Great Jedi Holocron.
If you are hungry to discover your true destiny and your place in the cosmic story, you can be assured that there are those of us who remember the radical faith and revolutionary teachings and are ready to pass it on to you, as Yoda passed the Jedi Way on to Luke Skywalker.
The Dark Side is real, as you will learn to discern.
You may start out here as a Youngling, but as you learn, you will grow in your skill and knowledge of the Force. As you grow you will advance in rank. You will become a Padawan, a Knight, and perhaps a Jedi Master. You will learn the Way of the Force, and it's Master. We will seek the ways of the Lost Teachings of the Great Jedi Holocron together. As a Christian Jedi you will learn the skills of offensive and defensive combat. And as you approach the level of Master, you will learn to meld your training and skills in service to the Universe around us.
RELIGION
Being a Jedi is not a religion in and of itself. Of course, neither is being a Christian. Both are actually a way of life.
STAR WARS
Although the Jedi were drawn from the mythos of Star Wars, in the real world we cannot allow ourselves to be locked into the limitations of that fictional world. In the real world we should strive to serve as peacemakers without lightsabers and flowing robes, but adhere to the character and ideals of the fictitious Jedi.
THE FORCE
The Force is actually bioelectric energy. It was created by God and exists in everything, but it should never be confused with God. The Force serves the purposes of God.
MARTIAL ARTS
The Jedi uses martial arts only for defense. He trains his body in order to be able to protect himself and others, without causing serious or permanent injury to another. For all men are created in the image of God and so are precious to him.
LIGHTSABERS
"An elegant weapon. The weapon of a Jedi Knight." - Obi-wan Kenobi
In today's world the weapon of a Jedi Knight should be diplomatically serving the will of God. Not only are lightsabers non-existent by current technology, they would be extremely dangerous even to the wielder. Not to mention the fact that they are most often lethal which goes against the Jedi desire to not cause serious or permenent injury to another. The modern day Jedi can still benefit from lightsaber training because it helps with coordination, agility, stamina, etc.
