I have been painting all my life, since taking lessons as a young child in the Berkshire Hills of Massachusetts. My mother was always sensitive to color and not only made sure her children all knew the proper names of colors and dressed in harmonious clothing, but changed the color schemes of the household curtains and flowers to reflect the seasons. As an adult I had several solo shows in the '90's at the Stockbridge Public Library and worked for several years as a window dresser and floral assistant in Boston, Massachusetts. I also taught painting and drawing classes at senior centers in Holyoke and Pittsfield, Massachusetts. I have worked in a variety of artistic industrial jobs over the years including: graphic designer for the Webster Times newspaper, (back when it was done with scissors and rubber cement!) color matcher for Berkshire Wallpapers, and design expediter for a silk-screen t-shirt shop. I moved to Texas in 1999 and learned ceramics from JoElla Littlejohn of Brenham, Texas. When she retired I purchased several teapot molds from her and began my series of floral "Tea For Ones" and "Santa Clauses". I continue to paint on canvas and I especially enjoy painting the subtle colors of the Texas landscape. I am presently studying webdesign with an eye to helping individuals create good web showcases for their crafts or family projects.
