Chris's Music

Using Ideas As My Maps

Welcome

This site is about music and guitars. I have attempted to write songs, please read them and tell me what you think. Also make sure to check the song on the bottom of this page. I will usually put one of my newer songs there or a song that for some reason I want to show in two different places (all song shown at the bottom of the page are also in one of the My Songs pages. Please sign my guestbook. I want to hear your comments and I will try to answer your questions.

My 8th Grade Graduation Speech

Yesterdays Final Hours

Once there was a way to go home

Once there was a minute to spare

Once we were all together, but still alone

Once, I didn’t have a reason to care

But now as time slaps me in the face

I hope that you still have the mind to remember me

Or am I just going to be another empty space

On the covered wall of your memory

The princes laugh as the mothers weep

Wishing that all the clocks could be fast asleep

But it seems as though the hands are moving faster now

As we all sit here stranded in this moment, somehow

It cannot be described with any tongue

How we can be getting old, but still stay forever young

Infinity is questioned by the fate of this day

As any voiceless confusion is all swept away

We have all the time in the world

So there is no time to waste

We have ears not only to hear

But ears to understand

We have hands not only to hold

But hands to steer

We have voices not only to talk

But voices to speak to others

We have feet not only to walk

But feet to step into the next era with our brothers

I’m leaving tomorrow, but if I left today

Would things still stay the same way?

If there was still a word left to be spoken

Would all of our ears be suddenly broken?

I can’t tell you about the way things are

Every yesterday is just a twinkle in a star

It’s all like what Bob Dylan says

“Time is an ocean but it ends at the shore

You may not see me tomorrow”
