BACKGROUND |
I had been taking photographs seriously for around eight years when I purchased a Canon EOS 500 SLR. This was my second SLR, the first being a Praktica B200 which I used from 1992 until 1997, although this was never used that much in anger. To supplement the EOS 500 over the next few years I added several extra bodies including an EOS 5, EOS EFM and EOS 1000F. During this time I also purchased a Mamiya 645 medium format camera and my first digital camera, which was a Kodak DC3800 compact. About six & a half years ago I bit the bullet and purchased a Canon D30 digital SLR and in 2004 I purchased a Minolta F300 digital compact for carrying around with me when I am at work or using my motorbike. September 2006 saw the appearence of an Olympus mju 810 digital compact. This was bought as a gift for me as a replacement for the Minolta F300. The F300 is only held together by two of its screws & tape, so it may not last much longer! It's had a few knocks & drops over the last couple of years, but is still working at the moment. The mju 810 is very small & has 8 M.P. I now no longer use film for my photography and I have sold all my 35mm SLR's and the Mamiya 645. I now use a Canon EOS 1DS Mk III digital SLR, as well as the Olympus mju digital compact.
Hits since April 2004.
