A Little About Me

While I am primarily known as a watercolor portrait artist, I also work in a wide variety of other media and styles - everything from oil and acrylic to stained glass and ceramics. I am self-taught in most of the media I work in, but I've also been trained by and worked with some exceptional artists. I occasionally have exhibitions of my work, and many of my framed paintings can be found in galleries and museums in Georgia and South Carolina.

My most popular work is almost certainly my watercolor pet portraits. Over the years I've painted literally hundreds of dogs and cats, but I've also been called upon to paint birds, horses...even a moose! These commissioned paintings have given me an opportunity to develop and improve my skill as an artist, and I hope that as you browse through my work you'll enjoy what you see.

I've made every effort to keep my prices reasonable, particularly for the quality of work I produce. My prices for commissioned pet portraits, for example, start at only $50 for a 5" by 7" original, nicely matted. My 8" by 10" portraits are only $100, and I'm certainly willing to paint your subject in any size you'd like. Best of all, my work is always guaranteed - if you're not happy with it, you can simply return it!

Pet Portraits

Here are a few examples of my pet portraiture. Almost all of the pet portraits I create are commissioned, but I also have high-quality signed photographic prints available of most breeds of dogs. My paintings of cats are also very popular, and prints of those are available as well. If you'd like me to paint a portrait of your pet, please give me a call or send me an e-mail - I think you'll be pleased by my work and quick turn-around time! I can work from photographs; even e-mailed digital photographs are fine.

People Portraits

In addition to portraits of pets, I am also often asked to create portraits of people. Although full-color portraits are the most popular, I also do single-color portraits which offer a unique and unusual perspective. I usually do my best work if I have a good quality photograph to use as a reference, and as with the pet portraits, e-mailed photographs are fine. Prices for portraits of people start at only $80; you're welcome to phone or e-mail for additional details on pricing and styles that are available.

Asian-themed art and Sumi-e

Some of my most popular paintings are Asian-themed works. I am self-taught in the style of sumi-e, and usually have a wide variety of Asian and sumi-e paintings available. Of course, if you have a particular theme or subject in mind, I'm always more than happy to create custom works!
