Other facts: Naruto dreams of one day becoming Hokage (leader, chief, etc.) of his village, so everyone will have to acknowledge him. At birth he had a demon fox (kyuubi) sealed into him by the 4th Hokage. His life was sacrificed so the village could prosper; it was meant to be a gift to Naruto to make him seem like a hero. But with the Kyuubi sealed inside him, the adults of the village grew to hate him due to the fact of them knowing about the gift and have passed this hatred to their children. No one but the adults, of the era of the kyuubi, knows about Naruto secret and it is strictly forbidden to share this information. Naruto has never had parents so he has had to fend for himself, thus becoming a troublemaker and joker at his academy, failing 3 years in a row. Naruto has had a crush on Sakura for as long as he can remember, but she refuses to acknowledge him. Naruto and Sasuke have been rivals since the academy days for Naruto thinks he is better then Sasuke and wants to prove he is not a drop out, but a respectable member of Konoha village. Whenever his close friends are in danger, he shows his true strength and will protect them.

Other facts: Once part of the most powerful clan in Konoha; he is the sole remaining survivor. He is left alive by his older brother, who wiped out the clan to "test his power". Sasuke lives to kill his brother Itachi and restore his clan. Possessing the sharingan eye (the ability to see through every jutsu and copy it), and the ability to one day awake the full powers of his sharingan after fulfilling one special requirement. He is arrogant and thinks everyone gets in his way and would be better if they let him do it himself, as he too has been alone without parents since his academy days when his parents where killed, and he was allowed to survive due to the fact he wanted to surpass his brother. Sasuke and Naruto have been rivals since the academy days and are always in competition with each other (as seen during their mission in the Country of Wave). He received the cursed seal from Orochimaru during the Chuunin examination, stage 2. The seal gives the victim a 10% chance of survival, and if they are to survive, it gives incredible power, but it eliminates the ability for individual growth within ones own power. Sasuke seeks power at any cost after witnessing the death of his family and being defeated by his brother, believing the gap between their powers had closed, he goes to Orochimaru to fulfill this desire, turning his back on Konoha village.

Name Meaning: Haruno means the "Spring of" / Sakura means "cherry blossoms" - Her full name means Cherry clossoms in the Spring

Other facts:Sakura has had a crush on Sasuke ever since she saw him. She is the weakest of the group, but will do anything for him (she grew her hair out because she thought he would like it, but cuts it to save him and Naruto later in the story). She is the best in the group in using genjutsu (illusionary techniques), but weaker in the other 2 fields (ninjutsu (ninjustu is like magic attacks), and taijutsu and taijustu is ninja karate). She has the greatest control over her chakra (energy). She is disgusted at the thought of Naruto liking her and finds any excuse to get away from him until she finally understands him. Her greatest rival is Ino, for they grew up together and Ino defended her from the other girls from teasing her. That friendship turned into rivalry when Ino found out Sakura also liked Sasuke, and they fought over it constantly.

Other facts: Once an ANBU (ANBU is like a SWAT team in Naruto) but returned to the duties of a jounin (jounin is a high level ninja) for unknown reasons. Placed with the responsibility to train team 7 (Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura). He is also the possessor of the level 3 Sharingan eye, but only in his left eye, which he conceals by pulling down his headband over his eye. He is also known as the copy ninja for he can copy any technique and use it against his opponent. He has copied over a thousand jutsu with his only original technique being the Chidori, also called Lightning Edge.

Name Meaning: Jiraiya comes from an old Japanese story, published over 30 years.

Instructor: Sarutobi (3rd Hokage)
Other facts: Nicknamed perverted teacher by Naruto for he is a pervert. Jiraiya can summon frogs, and gave that ability to Naruto, after seeing Naruto is much like himself. Jiraiya is the writer of Kakashi's favorite book, Make-out Paradise, which is a 3 volume series. He is one of the 3 legendary ninjas from Konoha. Jiraiya was taught by the 3rd Hokage along with Orochimaru and Tsunade (the other two legendary ninjas). He was asked to be the 5th Hokage but refused saying there was someone who was more qualified and offered to bring her back (tsunade).
