No Graphic Horror films please. Any gorey films such as Saw, Hostel etc will not be allowed under any circumstance in the videos category! (I hate these film -sorry!) Horror within each TV series is fine such as Sylar in Heroes and Angelus at his worst etc.
Please make sure your videos are available for streaming of downloading when you submit. Downloadable videos are preferred and should there be a problem streaming your video at the time of judging, it will be entered into the next round
Please be sure to mark your video 'Spoiler' if it has not yet aired on terestial UK TV
The video must be your work - any use of other peoples effects / transitions will be seriously dealt with by way of being banned from submitting to my site. I will also make other video award sites aware
If your video does not win an award, you may re-submit up to two times - afterwhich, to re-submit your video it must have at least 40% new clips
Each round will be open until 20 nominations are made - In turn the winners will be announced within approximately 28 days of the round closing
- Each category has to have at least three entries before I will judge that category. This is a new rule as to be brutally honest, occassionally I have been giving 1st place to a vidder who scored fairly low but still had the most points in that category. I like to be as fair as possible with judging but I want winning an award from me to be a video that has excelled itself!
The secret word for this round (16) is 'from beneath you'
I have broken down the categories into what I am looking for in a video to help you choose the correct ones.
- Best Action - Simply show me some ass kicking moves. Fight scenes well timed to the music beats are imperative here!
- Best Romance - The soppier the better. I want fluffy love scenes, lingering looks and eyes of passion!
- Best Comedy - Make me laugh! I don't want to smile, smirk or giggle. I want the kind of laughs that start in the depths of your stomach until neighbours within 100 mile radius hear!
- Best Angst - Give me pain, misery and despair! Simple.
- Best AU - Show me something that has never happened in real life. The more far fetched the better but remember if using multi fandoms to try and make sure the scenes look authentic or it is a waste of time!
- Best Family - By popular demand, this category will show me the highs and lows of your chosen family. To win in this round, the characters don't have to be related by blood but do have to be in a 'family background'
- Best Villain - The nastier the better. Choose someone who made a really good baddie and portray them in all their evil glory!
- Best Hero - We all need a hero from time to time so show me one! Be it a dark avenging hero or your standard I will serve and protect you kind. Maybe you want to submit an unsung hero?
- Best Conventional Couple - I want to see a regular pairing here and all they stand for!
- Best Unconventional Couple - Either from an AU point of view or a couple that have shared scenes but never really stolen the show. Make them steal the show!
- Best Words of Song - Don't submit into this if at leasat 70% of the lyrics don't match! Most songs have at least one line that it seems impossible to match a scene to but don't pick the song if you don't think you can match the lyrics!
- Best Overal Song - Ever thought of a song that would be perfect but the lyrics don't allow you to match up to a scene? This is where this is for. Classical songs or songs philosiphising are perfect for this category.
- Best Shipper - Obvious scenes are fine but to really stand out, be creative and put together a couple that have not actually shared screen time and see how well the clips can portray a whole new scene ;)
- Best Special Effects - Everyone is different but I a not personally a fan of sfx. The key is knowing where and when to stop so please do not overdo it!
- Best POV - Show me a video where I am aware of whose point of view it is without having to read the description.
- Best Crossover - Be it a sister show such as Angel, a music video of the artist or simply two shows with actors that have never shared screen time.
- Best Episodic - This is a hard category in my opinion. Finding a song that allows for only 45 minutes of film is tough but then not eing tempted to steal a clip from another episode because it matches too well is the hardest and probably why I can't do Episodics!
- Best Character - As with Villain, show the person in all their glory and really accentuate what it is that made the character so good.
- Most Tearful - Simply make me cry. Some of the videos you have submitted have already done that so please keep up the good work. I want tears though not sniffles....just prepare me for it though!
- Most sexiest - This doesn't have to be a semi naked cast - although it does help! One of the sexiest videos I have seen had the cast with their clothes on most of the way through but the song choice, clips and timing made it sexy.
- Most Unique - This in my opinion is a tough one to define. I guess everyone sees their own video as different from the rest but please remember if you are going to submit into this category the video needs to have a little bit more than a standard action or romantic video. Something in it needs to stand out from the rest!
