Brass Band Club prepares for the Students' Music Festival |
|
| The Chokai J.H.S. Brass Band Club has been working hard to fill the shoes of the departed third-grade members. The third-graders were a very talented and very cheerful group who put on some great performances. The second-graders are now leading the way. Their first live performance was at the Brass Band Concert on September 15. The second-graders played the theme song from the TV drama "Hyokkori Hyotan-Jima." This performance was a good experience for them because they recognized that they need to play more powerfully. | |
| The band's next performance comes on November 1 at the town's Students' Music Festival, where they will play a Carpenters' song in addition to other pieces. The band will not only be the last group to perform, but they will also play the Chokai town song while the audience sings. The second-graders will play an important role in the festival and with their hard-work and positive attitudes they will certainly put on a good show. | |
| According to Coach Matsuhashi, "Cheerful players make cheerful sounds...[so] the band members are trying to make themselves more cheerful in order to play more cheerfully." This effort is being led by captain Y.T., a second-grader who plays the French horn. And the effort is paying off. Coach Matsuhashi feels that in the month since the last performance, "Their sound has become louder and I praise their efforts." |
