A Few of the Things We Do:
Monthly Activity Days
On the second Tuesday afternoon of every month during the school
year.
Mother’s Meetings
On the first
Tuesday night of each month we meet in the home of one of the mothers and have
a time of fellowship, sharing of ideas, and talk, talk, talk!
Organized throughout the year.
Each year brings different
kinds of clubs, depending on interest.
Some examples are Drama Club, Boys’ Club, Girl’s Club, and clubs for specific age groups.
Testing and Evaluations
Some members in our group
like to use one particular woman as their evaluator, so they
arrange a day with her and she comes to Grove City and sees everyone all in one
day. This is convenient for everyone
concerned. Sometimes folks do
achievement testing together too.
Year-End Program
Consisting of a picnic or a program, it's a time of fellowship, games,
recitals, skits, and/or recitations.
Pizza Hut Book It and Scholastic Books
We do participate in the
Book It program, where Pizza Hut gives out certificates for free pizzas when a child has completed a specific amount of reading. We also receive Scholastic book flyers and
God’s World flyers, with a mother volunteer who pools these orders together and
sends them off. Sometimes we go together
so that we can receive reduced rates on educational magazines too.
Newsletter
A newsletter
each month of the school year tells about all the activities coming
up. It’s included in the membership
dues.
Yearbook
The past few
years, we've had a mother volunteer to put together a yearbook of our group. Each child designs his/her own page.
