This is Kyle Rowley stopping by to drop my first journal for Illinoishsbasketball.com. The season has started well for us at Lake Forest Academy. Our record is currently 9-4 and our nine game winning streak was snapped by Notre Dame Prep (ranked top 5 in the nation for prep schools). We lost to them by six points at the Boys Club of New York Tournament at Fordham University. On the LFA roster we have a lot of talented players who all contribute significantly to the program. David Smith and Nate Bateman run the backcourt, with Todd Zafirovski at the three and Aziz N’Daiye at the Four spot. This Year we have a tough schedule and we play some public schools that we hadn’t been able to play in the past. The likes of Zion Benton and Highland Park are also on our list of games scheduled. This past spring and summer I put in a lot of work with the Full Package athletic program and I was trained by Steve Pratt. Steve's coaching really helped my improvement as a player. I played on the AAU circuit with Full Package and we played well together as a team and had many respectable outcomes in all the tournaments we played in. My recruitment is going well so far. Currently I have offers from Wisconsin, Northwestern, SIU, and Baylor with a couple other schools showing high interest. My goal is to keep on working hard to improve and see what the rest of the year has to offer.
