Hare is Back on the Board

The first basketball practice at Marshall high school has been a much anticipated day since the recent firing of back to back state 3rd place coach Lamont Bryant. Many of the returning varsity players, including star senior Ryan Hare threatened to sit out for the duration of the season of Bryant was not re-instated, and the Illinois high school basketball world was buzzing with speculation as to if these kids would show up for day 1 of practice for Marshall: a top 3 team in the state. As expected, all of the players showed up and played in practice for new coach Courtney Hargrays, but that was not the only newsworthy piece to come out of Marshall today...

Ryan Hare, one of the top seniors in the class, has been committed to Oregon State university since September 20th and the 6-4 wing announced today that he no longer felt that OSU was the right fit for him, as he re-opened his recruitment. "I was out there at Oregon over the weekend and it just wasn't the right place for me," Hare told Mike O'Brien of the Chicago Sun-Times. "I'm starting my recruitment all over," continued Hare. "It's like I'm a freshman again."
