League MVP/ Eastern Conference MVP- 6-5 senior F Derryan Hunt (Evanston) - Magic- Hunt single handedly lifted the Magic to a 17 point win over the Cavaliers, a team that featured no fewer then two division one prospects. Hunt scored 28 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, including some posterizing dunks. Hunt is rapidly emerging as one of the top prospects in the state of Illinois.

Western Conference MVP/ Top underclassman- 6-10 Sophomore C Paul Bunch (North Lawndale) – Timberwolves-  Bunch scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a big win over a talented Suns team. Bunch uses his length and athleticism to take advantage of smaller players in the post. Bunch scored in a variety of ways; put backs, spin moves, dunks, short jumpers, hook-shots and more. Look for him to emerge as a top prospect nationally in the class of 2010.

Breakout Performer- 6-3 SG Jack Ryan (Glenbrook South) - Bulls- One of the few freshmen playing in the varsity league had a true breakout performance, pouring in 19 points. The brother of Northwestern star Jeff Ryan, Jack has the potential to be as good as or better then his brother. He is a very good scorer and has tons of upside.

Playmaker of the week (tie)-

5-10 Senior PG Deshawn Dockery (Hillcrest) - Bulls- Dockery put up a very solid, well rounded performance in week 6, as he posted a stat line of 18 points, 10 assists, and 4 steals for the Bulls. Deshawn is one of the best set-up men in the state, and has excellent court vision and a great basketball IQ. Deshawn can also light it up from outside.

6-1 Junior G John Taylor (North Lawndale) – Timberwolves- Taylor put up another stellar offensive performance in week 6, as he posted 29 points and played very unselfishly, as well as making a very high percentage of his shots. Taylor is challenging Matt Vogrich for the title of top shooter in the class of 09, and may be inching in on Matt Roth for being the best shooter in the state!
