Whats good, this is D’Andra Smith stopping by to drop my 1st player journal. My AAU season is finally over with. I played with Team Illinois Knights from April-October. It was a very long season but one of my best. From April to June I played mostly 16U ball along with Small Forward Aaron Brown and Ron Johnson Jr. and I‘m only 15 and don’t turn 16 until next year. We went on a 14-0 winning streak, I averaged 16 points, 7 assists, and 3 steals a game. Our first out of town tournament was in St Paul, Minnesota. There were some pretty good teams there but that didn’t phase me. I scored 15 points, 8 assists, and 4 steals the 1st round. 13 points, 10 assists, and 2 steals in the semi-final. 18 points, 7 assists, and 3 steals in the championship game. Our first loss was to Kentucky Kings by 3 in a tournament in Wisconsin. After school let out I got a personnel trainer to work on every aspect. After 1 month of personnel training I moved up to start point guard on Team Illinois Knights 17U team. I averaged 13 points, 5 assists, and 1 steal a game. One tournament we played in at Philadelphia I averaged 17 points, 6 assists, and 2 steals a game but we loss the championship to Baltimore Select by 11. Overall our 16U record was 31-11 and our 17U record 27-6. On 11/16/07 I participated in a showcase. I was ranked the 9th best player in the showcase, and won all 2nd team honors. I averaged 17 points, 7 assists, and 2 steals. I also earned finals MVP honors scoring 22 points, 8 assists, 3 steals, and 3 rebounds in the championship game. I will sit out this year of high school basketball due to transferring to; Evergreen Park, Oak Lawn, or Bogan next year to start point guard on varsity. I will most likely be playing with Coach Gamble and Showtime 16U next aau season so look forward to me in a #25 Showtime uniform!
