The Central Suburban League is set to have one of it's most exciting and competitive seasons to date, as it is loaded with talent of all classes from top to bottom. I have compiled a list of the top players in the CSL expected to make an impact this season. This is not just a ranking of the most talented, or best players in the league! This ranking is based on three components. 1) Talent level, 2) How good their team is expected to be, and 3) How big of a role they will play on the team.

Peter Boehm- 6-7 senior F New Trier (Harvard Commit)-Pre-season CSL player of the year
The Harvard commit is the Illinoishsbasketball.com pre-season CSL player of the year. Boehm will be the top player on New Trier, one of the top two teams in the league and one of the top 15 teams in the state. Boehm is a hardnosed defender and a hustler on both ends of the floor. He has a nice offensive package, and should be one of the high scorers in the CSL, as well as one of the top rebounders and shot blockers.

This sophomore phenom is set to be the most talented player in the CSL, regardless of class. Though

Jack Cooley- 6-8 junior PF Glenbrook South
Cooley comes into the season as the top post player in the CSL, and arguably the top junior in the league. The versatile 6-8 power forward will be the anchor for a Glenbrook South team that has high hopes for this season, as they have a very talented, well rounded squad. Cooley is big, strong, and tough on the blocks, and is a superb rebounder and shot blocker. He also has a very nice touch around the hoop. Cooley is being recruited by a host of D1 schools including

5) Chris Wrobelowski- 6-1 senior G Highland Park (Cornell Commit)
Chris will be the star on a senior- led
6) Dahni Wilson- 6-3 junior SF Maine East
7) Tyler Ponticelli- 6-7 junior F Glenbrook North
The versatile forward will be the key to Glenbrook North’s success this season, as they have a very solid core of players and have a shot at having winning the CSL North division. Ponticelli can mix it up outside or bang down low, and does was it takes for his team to win. He has a number of D1 schools tracking his progress.
8) Nik Garcia- 6-5 junior SG Niles West
The high scoring junior is arguably the top junior in the league, and one of the best scorers in the state, regardless of class. Garcia will be the bright spot on an inexperienced Niles West team that figures to finish in the bottom half of the conference. Garcia is sure to single-handedly win a number of games this season for West.
t9) Derryan Hunt- 6-5 senior F Evanston
The highly athletic forward will be the wildcard for
t9) Travis Clark- 6-5 senior PF Evanston
This productive post presence has been Mr. consistent for
t9) Steven Rudnicki- 6-3 senior SG Evanston
Rudnicki is going to be looked upon by
t9) Sean Croegart-Key- 6-3 senior SF Evanston
Croegart-Key will be needed to play inside and outside for the wildkits, and contribute in all categories. The versatile forward was a starter all of last season, and could end up as the top scorer on the team. Sean is a top D2/D3 recruit.
t9) Dan Farr - 6-5 senior C Evanston
Farr is a very big and strong, and will be needed to rebound the ball for the Wildkits. Danny has a very nice set of post moves, and has the potential to be dominant when matched up with smaller oponents. Farr has two division 1 football offers, and could be a D2 basketball player.
13) Jack Boehm- 6-7 senior SG New Trier (Bucknell Baseball commit)
Peter Boehm’s twin brother is a great scorer and a smart player. Can really light it up from outside.
14) Naudgee Carpenter- 5-8 senior G Waukegan
Carpenter will be the senior leader for a
15) Alex Rossi- 6-5 sophomore wing New Trier
The top sophomore in the league will play a starting role for a talented New Trier squad. He is a high major D1 recruit and has Northwestern,
Josh is a very smart player, and will run the point most of the time for the Giants. A very good D3 recruit.
17) Lewis Brown- 6-2 senior SG Glenbrook South
Brown had a break out fall, and could be the leading scorer for a very good GBS team. Brown is a spectacular outside shooter, and will be a very good D3 recruit.
18) Brian Peel- 6-4 senior F Glenbrook North
Peel is a high scoring forward, and will provide senior leadership for the Spartans. A D3 recruit.
19) Charles McKinney- 6-3 sophomore G Maine East
Charles will provide a scoring punch for a young Maine East team that could surprise people around the state.
20) Alex Dragecevich- 6-2 sophomore SG Glenbrook North
The sharp-shooting sophomore will provide a spark for a good Glenbrook North team. A division one prospect.
