About the club...

Chingford Athletic Football Club was formed as recently as the summer of 2007 and we currently compete in the Ilford & District Premier Division following last season's promotion. We were brought together from a few local teams and once we had our place in the league for the 2007/2008 season assured, we were looking forward to building a long and illustrious history for the club. Now, after a comfortable mid-table finish in our first season, and two cup semi-final appearances and promotion in our second season, the club are looking to push forward on all fronts.

One of the main signs of this is that the upcoming 2009/2010 season will see Chingford field two men's teams, both in the Ilford & District League. To do this we have signed 33 players so the new season looks to be as busy as ever before for all involved. 

Our second season was an improvement on the first and promotion was well deserved, but fell agonisingly short of collecting any silverware. This season we hope to go one better, and with everyone's hard work and support, there is no reason why this can't be achieved.

2009 comes to an end.... Both games this week have been cancelled due to the snow, meaning the next games will be 9th Jan 2010!

Well where do we start? 2009 has been a big year for Chingford Athletic, finishing runners up in IDFL league 1 and forming a reserve squad for the new season have been 2 of the biggest in the clubs very short history. Our record speaks volumes for the year 2009, Played 37, won 24, lost 9 and drawn 4. Scoring 110 between them along the way and conceding just 56! Yet to get any silverware in the CAFC trophy cabinet but coming very close to making the final towards the end of last season taking Cranes all the way to Penalities, only for club captain Thompson to decide he liked the tree more than the back of the net! Lets hope 2010 we can make a final for a big day out and challenge for the title in both leagues. Thoughts for next year and next season have already begun, the application for the Olympian league is already in the right hands and baring something speticular from one of the other teams in the Premier league, a top 3 finish will be enough for the club to progress to the next stage on the football ladder. For the people and players that have been involved we hope you have and still are enjoying everything that is Chingford Athletic and wish you all a Happy Xmas and and prosperus 2010!
