Go Chinchillas!

Chilli (2002-2007)  Female

To start at the beginning, my brothers and I were out camping.  When we got back we were so excited, our mom told us she had a suprise for us!!!  We quickly went home to find out what the big surprise was.  When we were home my mom lead us to their room and they told us to be quiet.  Once we settled down she handed us a little fuzzy ball.  It was Chilli!!!  We all started talking about names almost right then.  The one we chose was Chilli.  My dad thought of it and everyone agreed.  At first it was confusing to remember that she was a chinchilla.  After awhile it stuck

At our home it was crazy at first!!!  Everyone wanted to hold her.  Finally things settled down.  Then we found out how hard it was to take care of a chinchilla!!!  I had to clean the cage out every week and for about two year, it was annoying.  Once my brother was old enough to clean the cage it was easier.  My grandpa and I  made a large cage for her to run around in. It had wood to chew on and other cool stuff!!!  In the winter we let her outside alot!!!

When I was at the beach with my best friend my brothers were cleaning out her cage.  When they were cleaning out her cage they had her outside.  It was too hot and she had a heat stroke.  They rushed her to the vet.  She lived for a few minutes longer but it wasn't enough, she died.  I came home early and on my way home my mom told me about what happened.  It was one of the worst days in my life.
