Moutains and Moutain Ranges

Himalaya Mountain Range

The Himalaya Moutain Range is located in Asia and seperates India from the Tibetan Plateau.

The Himalaya Mountain Range is home to all fourteen of the worlds highest peaks.


Tian Shan Moutain Range

Tian Shan is a Moutain Range in Central Asia.

Tian Shan is also sometimes spelt Tien Shan, it has two spellings.

Kunlun Shan Moutains

The Kunlun Shan moutain range runs along the western boarder of China.

The Kunlun Shan is one of the longest moutain chains in Asia, extending more then 3000 km.



Altay Moutain Range

The Atlay moutain range is near the top of China, and at the bottom of Mongolia.

The name, in Altay, means Al (gold), tau (mount); in Mongolian Altain-ula, the "Mountains of Gold".


 

Deserts

Gobi Desert

The Gobi Desert is in the Middle Eastern part of China.

The Gobi is one of the largest deserts in the world.

Taklimakan Desert

The Takilmakan Desert is a desert in China.

The Taklimakan Desert formed 4.5 million years ago.

Rivers

Yellow River

The Yellow River is a river that runs along the middle of China.

The Yellow River is the second longest river in China.

Yangtze River

The Yangtze River is a river that runs along near the southern part of China.

The Yangtze River is the largest river in China and the third largest in the world.


Xi River

The Xi River runs along the bottom part of Central Asia, China.

Hsi River is another name for the Xi River.

Sea's

Yellow Sea

The Yellow Sea is at the Eastern part of China, where China bends in a little.

Its name comes from the sand particles that color its water.

East China Sea

The East China Sea is very much self explanatory, it's a sea in China that is in the East.

The Yangtze River is the largest river flowing into the East China Sea.

South China Sea

The East China Sea is a sea in the East of China.

It is the largest sea body after the five oceans.

Taiwan Strait

The Taiwan Strait is a area of space between China and the island of Taiwan.

The Taiwan Strait is 180 Km wide.

Others

Tibet

Tibet is a region in Central Asia, China.

Tibet is often called "The Roof Of The World."

Taiwan

Taiwan is part of China that is broken off and to the east.

Taiwan is more then 100 kilometers away from the eastern part of China.

Mongolia

Mongolia is not a part of China, however, it is the piece of land directly north of China and directly below Russia.

Mongolia's main mining products are petroleum, coal and copper.

Ulaanbaatar

Ulaanbaatar is the capital of Mongolia and is in the middle of Mongolia but slightly to the east.

About one-third of the population resides in the capital city Ulaanbaatar.

Taipei

Taipei is the capital of Taiwan.

In 1949, Taipei became the headquarters of Chiang Kai-shek's Chinese Nationalists, who had been forced to flee mainland China.

Beijing

Beijing is the capital of Central Asia, China.

The city, Beijing, has an opera, a ballet, and the impressive national library.

Hong Kong

Hong Kong is a region in Southeast China.

Hong Kong's terrain is hilly to mountainous with steep slopes.
