'THE HEAP' was a long-standing and long-suffering character (how would you feel having to go through life as five hundred pounds of phlegm?) in the SKYWALD comics and his self-pitying, unlikely adventures were hugely popular. Sadly THE HEAP went the way of so many other comicbook characters into dreaded 'dead file' limbo. John Gallagher cannot let such a marvellous pile of articulate filth rest however; and will be bringing him back in an edition of BEDLAM or USHER in 2003. The twisted talent selected to inflict this unwholesome mountain of malodorous misery on our readers is none other than our own discovery John Simpson in collaboration with the fearsome Mr. Gallagher himself! There is a bit of the melancholy and passionately petulant Heap in all of us - but hopefully not too much...
