The Chilufya Library Project

For many of us, libraries stir up positive memories in our minds... you may even remember that exciting moment of checking out your first book.  For a lot of people, a library represents a comforting place  --an atmosphere of learning, imagination, and opportunity.  Maybe it's where you first developed your love of reading or researched the topics you found yourself dreaming about.  Whatever the case, libraries open up a world of possibilities.  For many rural Zambians, the Chilufya Community Library will provide an outlet to the world that exists beyond their villages, an opportunity to find out how far their imaginations can take them, and quite possibly, their first step towards creating a better future for themselves... and the future of Zambia.
