For new members
Now that you’ve found us, come and join us on one of our events. Whether you come on a walk or a social event, it goes without saying that you can expect a warm welcome.
There’s nothing complicated about the way our group is run – if you want to attend any of our day walks and most of our social events, all you need to do is turn up at the appointed time and place. The only events you need to book for are some socials and all weekend trips.
When you first e-mail us to express an interest in the group, we will add you temporarily to our e-mail list as a prospective member. E-mail is our main method of communication, and we use it to send out details of all socials, weekend trips and other events.
Details of all day walks are available on the net (click here), and they are not usually publicised by e-mail unless there is some change to the details previously published. Our walks programme is published every 4 months (starting in April, August and December) and is sent to all members. If you are a new member, feel free to ask for a copy of the current walks programme.
How to join the Chilterns 20-30s group
If you regularly participate in group events and wish to remain on the e-mail list, we ask that you join us as a full member.
To become a member of the Chilterns 20-30s group, you need to join The Ramblers Association, which can be done online. It costs the princely sum of £24 per year and there is no additional charge to join our group. In the “RA Group” box on the form, you need to specify that you want to join Chilterns 20-30s.
Our members receive three magazines published by the Ramblers: Walk, a national magazine packed with gear and book reviews, stunning photography and exciting features by renowned writers, South-East Walker, which contains news and information about local Ramblers groups, and Hike, which contains news and information about 20-30s groups nationwide. Discounts of 10% at outdoor shops such as Blacks and Millets are also available to members.
