The face paints I use are water based and should come off easily with water and a flannel. Bathtime is perfect!
Another effective (but less environmentally friendly) way to remove them is with baby wipes.
When removing face paint and glitters, be sure to wipe away from the eyes.
Any stubborn traces can be removed with cotton wool and a cleansing cream, baby lotion, or make-up remover.
Black, dark blue and fake blood tend to be the most difficult to take off.
For Now ink tattoos will stay on for several days with the right care (see FAQs on the Tattoo Parties page) but are simple to remove whenever you wish.
Simply rub with a flannel soaked in warm soapy water. Again, bathtime is perfect for soaking it off.
The longer the design has been on, the more rubbing it will require to remove but it is never usually difficult.
NB. If you don't want the tattoo to come off after a bath, make sure you pat very gently with the towel and DO NOT RUB while it is wet!!
These are the hardest to get off and I dislike them for that reason (as well as them not looking very good in my opinion). If children didn't love them so much I would never use them out of choice. However, not all children want face paint and I don't like any child to feel left out so if they want a tattoo at a face painting party, this is what I can give them.
To take them off, soak a piece of cotton wool in baby oil (or cooking oil) and rub over the tattoo. If it has been on for a few days it will be very stubborn so you may need to massage in a few drops of oil directly and let it soak for a few minutes before rubbing.
