What Glutonlumps Chilling Tales is searching for are tales that send good old-fashioned shivers and chills down the reader's spine. Tales that weave a thick atmosphere without incorporating bad language or sexual situations. Tales that tinker with the reader's imgaination without actually grossing them out. Often times what is implied is far more unsettling than what is actually seen, and that is what we want.
Ideally submissions should fall in the 2-4,000 word range- but there will be exceptions. Alas there is no payment at this point of time however there shall be one featured story each edition that will earn twenty U.S. Dollars.
The successful submitters retain all rights to their work, allowing Chilling Tales only the right to distribute paper copies of the magazine in which it appears or any pdf copies or other electronic versions of the magazine, which may be, at the editors discretion, be at a later time be made available online. Excerpts from stories will also be available on-line at this very website, or in any advertisement material, or quotes from it might be used in any reviews to promote Chilling Tales.
Contracts shall be sent via snail mail to all writers accepted and should be promptly read, signed and returned.
Once you have signed and returned our lovely Chilling Tales contract, you would have agreed to publication in the forementioned issue, and any future reprintings of it. Important note from my attorney-You are also agreeing that by submitting a story the author assumes all and any responsibility to potential copyright, libel, trade mark encroachment or any other variety of legal proceedings which might stem from its publication in Chilling Tales Magazine. With that in mind, please do not send us any stories that use characters from films, television shows, other people’s writing or any other type of "Fan Fiction." (Unless you own the copyright to such characters- and if if that is the case send me them immediately!)
This should go without saying-but say it I shall- plagiarism, of any sort, will not be tolerated...

Please no simultaneous submissions allowed, unless requested. We will attempt to get back to you within a month with our decision. Submissions we are undecided about we might hold on to until a final decison has been reached- and you shall be notified accordingly. Therefore the longer we make you wait to hear back from us might indicate that you have almost made the cut. If however you have not heard back in three months- please feel to send us a friendly reminder. Computers are not always reliable and we are only human. Also if your story is accepted somewhere else- please allow us the courtesy to know that to.
