The purpose of this event is to raise funds to support a Child Survival Project in Wolmera, Ethiopia.  This project provides prenatal care to pregnant mothers and their children through the first three years of their life.  This is a critical period, that sadly, many children in Wolmera do not survive.  Fortunately, organizations such as Compassion International are releasing children from poverty.  You can learn more about Compassion International by visiting their website – www.compassion.com

 Funds raised from this event will benefit Compassion International for a Child Survival Project (CSP)  in Wolmera, Ethiopia.   The following statistics have touched our hearts and prompted us to do our part in Carroll County:   More than 10 million children under age 5 die each year.  Two-thirds of these deaths—more than 6 million deaths every year---are PREVENTABLE!  More than 100 million children are homeless.  Every 3 seconds a child dies from poverty.   Compassion’s CSP serves pregnant mothers and then their newborn children through their third year.  Compassion has a 55-year proven track record of effective service to the world’s poorest children.
