Registration and Refund Policy

Missed Classes

The student understand that deposits for courses are to hold a space for myself, and, as such, are non-refundable, and that in the event that the student fails to attend any Fidelity Investigative Training Academy course in which they enroll, that they forfeit the total class fee paid via payroll deduction. The student understands that no student in any course is guaranteed a “Certificate of Course Completion”, nor certification of any kind, merely as a result of having paid for any course. The student further understands that failure to pass prerequisite written and/or practical examinations, required by each course, will result in non-certification. The student further understands that failure of any final examination of any course will require the final examination to be retaken. The student understands that the State of Illinois required courses for certification require specific total hours of training, and that failure to be at training and in the classroom at the appointed time may result in disqualification from taking the qualifying exam for that class session, and that the student may be required to retake the course in its’ entirety. The student understands that these determinations are at the sole discretion of the Training Academy, by and through its’ appointed representatives.

Unforeseen Class Absences

If a student is unable to attend a class session, due to family emergency, accident or sickness, the student shall be due a refund in proportion to the percentage of the course attended. If the student has attended 25% of the course, the student may receive a 75% refund of the tuition. If the student has attended 50% of the course, the student may receive a refund of 50% of the tuition paid. This policy applies only in the event that the student notifies the academy when reasonably possible. A student who completes the course of instruction, but fails the qualifying examination is not due a refund in any case. The student may retest once at the following test date free of charge. A second or third taking of the qualifying examination is at the student’s expense.

Waiver & Release

The student understands that the submitting of this enrollment application, does not constitute acceptance of enrollment. Further, the student states and affirms that the information contained in their application is both true and accurate to the best of their knowledge. In addition, the student gives Fidelity Investigative Training Academy my full and complete permission to conduct a background investigation for enrollment purposes, which may include (but not be limited to) an investigation into any and all criminal convictions, former employer feedback reports, and any and all other reasonable means and methods to determine suitability, fitness and qualifications for enrollment in any and all courses. The student understands and agrees that Fidelity Investigative Training Academy has the right to refuse to provide training to anyone, for any reason. Further, that the student, their heirs, administrators, executors, and agents, waive, release and hold harmless Fidelity Investigative Training Academy its’ shareholders, directors, executives, mangers, employees, subcontracted companies, affiliates and authorized agents from any and all causes of action, including (but not limited to) third-party causes of actions, arising directly or indirectly, as a result of their submission of the completed enrollment application, their participation in Fidelity Investigative Training Academy training resulting from such application (or ensuing related employment activities), any and all activities (including “Acts of God”) during class, or from any and all other acts, errors or omissions related to their enrollment, my classroom training or their voluntary participation in the Referral Program.

Student’s Responsibilities and Code of Conduct

If accepted for training, all students agree to abide by all written and verbal policies and procedures of Fidelity Investigative Training Academy, its directors, executives, managers, supervisors and/or authorized agents instructing, directing, or placed in charge of them. All students are financially responsible for any and all debts that are incurred and owed to Fidelity Investigative Training Academy as a result of their application for enrollment in any class or course given or sponsored by Fidelity Investigative Training Academy.

All students, by registering for class and actual class attendance, are agreeing to subscribe to this code of conduct and the student’s responsibilities. All students are expected to be in the classroom, ready to begin class no later than ten minutes prior to the start of each class session. Each student is expected to dress “business casual” in order to blend into our surrounding business atmosphere. This means that blue jeans, shorts, sweat pants, warm ups, and other sport or street wear, is completely unacceptable. Students, while attending class, are a representation of our Academy, and as such, are to dress professionally.

Students are expected to follow the directions of the instructors quickly and precisely. Any student whom an instructor feels is incapable of safely and properly completing any course, will be removed by the instructor. No refund of tuition will be provided in the case of any deliberate act that is unsafe, or is in defiance of the directions of an instructor. Each student is expected to have evaluated their own ability to safely and successfully complete the class that they wish to enroll in, prior to enrollment, as well as their own physical ability to engage in the training itself. Certain classes require practical physical tests of the student, in order for the student to demonstrate proficiency in the techniques learned. Certain classes require students to experience some discomfort, under supervised and controlled circumstances, in order to successfully complete that course. Individuals who have sever allergies, brittle bones, preexisting injuries or conditions that restrict movement, asthma, or other physical or medical conditions, are advised to refrain from attending such classes.

Responsibility of the Academy

This state licensed training academy is responsible to the State of Illinois, to provide the state-certified courses in accordance with state statue and requirements. This responsibility supersedes and takes precedence with respect to certifying any student who has completed any such course. If the student has failed to meet the minimum standard set and approved by the state, by and through its proper department, the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, such student cannot, by law, be certified as having completed the course in question.

The training academy will make every reasonable effort to provide an opportunity for such students to be certified at a later time, as stated on this page, which may include a second attendance by the student at the next session of that same class.
