Chez Christy

Chez Christy is an online storefront for custom made bags, aprons and more.  100% of the profits from each item sold goes directly to The 3 Day.  The 3 Day is a three day, twenty mile a day walk raising money for breast cancer research and awareness. 

In 2007, I walked The Three Day in Tampa as part of the team Our Cups Runneth Over.  Together, we raised over $50,000.  The walkers of Tampa Bay earned over $5,000,000 for breast cancer research and education.

In 2008, I will crew (volunteer) in Seattle.  The dates of the Tampa walk fall over Halloween and I'll be "walking" from door to door with my children, so I'll skip Tampa and head to Seattle a few weeks prior.

When I was sixteen, I spent a year as an exchange student with a family in France.  Fifteen years later, we are still close.  This family, especially the mother, Genevieve, taught me a lot about French, the French and France, but also a lot about life.  During the year I lived in France, Genevieve battled and beat breast cancer.  So, in honor of her, I walked this year and I called my "store" Chez Christy. 

Chez doesn't have an exact English translation.  Clumsily translated, it means "at the home of."  When used in French it's warm and inviting and generally not overly fancy - that's why I like it.  My products are warm and loving, simple celebrations of what is precious in life.
