The Zed is currently undergoing preparation for a new paint job. The plan is to paint the roof in gloss black and the rest of the body in Mitsubishi Satellite Silver. There's some rust in the sills to be fixed as well as a few minor dings here and there. The plan is to have it all ready by the end of March.
I'm also pulling the engine back out at some stage to re-seal the sump which has had a leak for a fair while.
I picked up a Garret intercooler for $300. It's 450x300x70mm in size. The end tank setup was perfect for what I needed and the cooler only took an hour to mount. I did the piping in mild steel and used silicon hose for joiners. The piping from the turbo to the intercooler is 2" while the piping from the cooler to the throttle bodies is 2.25". I modified the original cast aluminum throttle body pipe by welding a 2.5" 90 degree aluminium bend to it. Pics below.
