We are thrilled to invite you to join us this fall, as a long-time dream of ours finally unfolds.  A while back we were talking about all of the incredible people who have inspired us through the years. People we've toured with, people who have let us sleep on their floors, and others still whom we've never met: people who have changed our world with the spark of a song or an honest conversation.

How indebted we are to so many unique people.  

And so with a general sentiment of gratitude we began to dream. What if there was a way to pass on what we’ve received? What if there was an ongoing conversation that allowed these unique people to be heard to and to learn from each other? What if there was a place to celebrate the good the true and the beautiful that surface in sublime and subtle ways all around us? What if there was a place to reach outside ourselves and change the world? Lowercase People is our attempt to provide all of this.

Lowercasepeople.com is the quarterly online magazine for music, arts, and  social justice. Each issue will showcase provocative interviews and original articles from remarkable people you should probably know, from the art community to indigenous communities around the world. The issues will also profile other undiscovered artists, writers and social issues in local cities and in places you’ve never heard of.  Best of all, every piece will be interactive—providing a place for you to offer your opinions and begin a conversation.

We are also excited to introduce a unique blend of beauty, art and fashion in the Lowercase People Apparel line. Gathering designs from talented artists around the world, we will strive to create pieces that are not only distinctive but that represent the artists’ view of beauty and truth. In an effort to give back to the community, every month we will give a percentage of the proceeds to the Lowercase People Justice Fund, a fund dedicated to serving third world communities in partnership with Geneva Global.

The first issue of lowercase people will be up soon and will feature Reeve Oliver, (an amazing San Diego band), “A Love Supreme,” an article about the spirituality of John Coltrane, and a section about the Kuyasa Kids of South Africa, (the Kuyasa Kids are a choir from a village near Capetown.) All profits from the Kuyasa Kids CD go towards the community of Kayamundi—their hometown.

Overall, we want to see change. We want to dream bigger dreams. We want to collide. We want to make better art and better music. We're curious. We're moving outside of the lines. We're thinking out-loud. We are the lowercase people. Please allow this letter to serve as an invitation to be a part of something bigger than ourselves. Perhaps something in you resonates with the heartbeat of lowercase people.
