You may have stumbled upon this page unwittingly, and are now confused as to who CheeseDad is, or why he has a fan club. First of all, I am not CheeseDad, and have no way of contacting him. Futhermore, I'm not even sure who he is. My friends and I found him one day on the wonderful website http://www.scotchcorner.com, when we were looking online for some tweed clothing to buy.

I was really struck by his familiarity, and showed his picture to one of my friends, who immediately realised who he reminded us both of: Dad. Not my dad or her dad necessarily, but the universal idea of "Dad".  Whether it's his smile, that seems to say "Kids, I don't want to be taking this picture, but I'll grin and bear it," or his longsuffering patience in trying on many different clothes, the personality and warmth expressed in the pictures appealed to us.

After showing his photo to a few other friends, it was agreed that the familiar joy of "Dad" needed to be shared with the world. Thus came the birth of the CheeseDad Fanclub. Not to be misunderstood as a website bashing this man or Dads in general, it's instead a celebration and appreciation of Dads and their particular idiosyncrasies that often add up to be cheesiness.
