Question:

How do I make my jumps better and higher? I can't seem to get my legs up.

Answer:

1. Practice, practice, practice. Practice makes perfect!

2. Stretch. Always stretch before performing ANY jump. Stretching in the position of the jump you are working on is really helpful. Try holding the stretch for a greater amount of time as your flexiblity improves.

3. Leg and Ab strentgh helps greatly to improve your jumps, so here are some great exercises for you to do.

Leg Explosions:  Start with your feet together. Squat down to were your knees are bent to a 90 degree angle then jump straight into the air as high as you can bringing your arms up by your ears. When you land, absorb the jump going back into a 90 degree angle squat and explode up again. (This is always a great exercise for back-tucks.)

Check out the JUMP section for more leg exercises.

Crunches:  Start by lying flat on your back. Bring your feet to were they are both flat on the ground. Then crunch your stomach muscles as you bring your head neck and shoulders off the ground, pretend as if you were pushing your bottom rib into your stomach.
