The vision and purpose of the CHEC Homeschool Support Group is to strengthen the family and ensure the success of home education through academic and spiritual support. The members of this support group strive to provide opportunities for families to share ideas, encourage one another, and participate in various types of activities.

Per Governor Rick Perry, April 2, 2004, in honor of Home Education Week:

Homeschooling allows parents the opportunity to develop and implement a learning program based on their children's individual needs. Conducted within the framework of the family's beliefs and values, homeschooling provides students with one-on-one attention and strengthens family bonds by involving children and adult family members in the learning process.
