CHASJENKA SPANISH WATER DOGS

Breeding for Type and Temperament

At Last

As from 1st January 2008 the Spanish Water Dog will be off of the Import Breed Register and put on the Full Breed Register at last this will mean we can compete in other classes and events and shows and gundog trials.

We will not be eligible for Crufts until 2009, but the light is finally at the end of the tunnel.

About Me

Hi

My name is Jenny Bloomfield and I have had dogs all of my life, I started with German Shepherds with my sister and then went onto Gundogs first with a Weimeraner and then with English Springer Spaniels, I have also owned and shown a Polish Lowland Sheepdog who unfortunately had terrible hips and then went on to get cancer and a smooth collie who made my husbands asthma worse.

I first saw this lovely breed about 8 years ago but was unable to contemplate owning one until a few years ago, I studied the breed until I was lucky enough to purchase a bitch puppy whom I called Daisy in March 2003.

I was so besotted with her and the breed that I managed to persuade her breeder to let me have another puppy and 6 months later Abby arrived.

My thanks go to Catherine Jefferson of Pemontell Kennels (now in New Zealand) for allowing me to have my 2 golden girls.

The start of it all, !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bred my first SWD litter in 2005 and kept a dog puppy (Archie), he will be hitting the show ring this year and I hope he grows up just like his parents with their wonderful temperaments.

I am hoping to breed again Mid Summer 2006

I strive to keep true to type with excellent temperaments and only breed from health tested stock with sound happy temperaments who have been well socialised with other people, children and animals.
