Here is a recent picture of our new son Chase and our grand-daughter Kiyara.
God works in mysterious ways, we all know that!!
On January 20, 2002 a friend of my twin daughters who are now almost 21, decided to give up her youngest child. My husband and I were not in the market to adopt. The thought really never crossed our minds since all of our three children are adults and have moved away from home.
We took the child, then named Anthony into our home. Since he was so young, we started calling him "Chase" and it stuck. Maybe it was because we chased him so much. He was severely malnurished weighing about 13 pounds at 8 1/2 months old. He suffered from acid reflux so everything thing that went in...came right back up again. In less than 5 days we fell in love with this adorable little boy!
Lawyers demanded big bucks to finalize the adoption of a child who was not blood related. After approval from an agency conducting a home-study, we found out that we could legally adopt. After spending $6500.00, the adoption was finalized on April 11, 2003 (a year and a half later)
He is happy, healthy and loved and growing like a weed!!
My husband and I are both medically retired. I have had two heart attacks. One at the age of 36 and a second on at the age of 41 which required a quadruple bypass. My husband has recently had his third back surgery. My opinion is that you can love anyone....just given the opportunity.
