Zixan (Zain)

Exiled Order #: 5
Exiled Name: Zixan
Original Name: Zain
Alliance: Exiled Order
Alias: The Enigma
Age: 21
Height: 6' 1"
Weight: 165
Sex: Male
Eyes: Silver
Hair: Black
Dominant Hand: Ambidextrous
Weapon: Large Axe
Clothing: Exiled Order Coat
Hometown: Unknown
Location: Twilight Town
Personality: He’s a stoic individual, usually showing little to no emotion on his face or in his voice. He’s usually described as cold by some of the lesser members even though he only has the best interests of the Exiled in mind. He’s a respectful nobody and not quick to anger. He usually tries to find better, more peaceful solutions to problems. When in fights, he usually gives his opponents a chance to leave, but when his offer is refused, he doesn’t hesitate to finish them off.

Despite his calm countenance, his tactics can be considered ruthless and inhumane. He will do anything to keep the Exiled safe. He’s not one to give many chances. One is all you usually get, but some fortunate few get that rare second chance.
Quote: "If you’re not with us, then you’re against us."
Element: Vapor
Element Description: Zixan mainly uses his element for spying, security purposes, and, ultimately, his own protection. When he does spread his vapor, it becomes an extension of his own five senses. Other abilities include being able to make lifelike clones of anything from snakes to human to objects. He also has the ability to teleport within his vapor or to other vaporous objects, even to the clouds in the sky.
Fighting style: His fighting style is situational. He usually doesn’t make the first move, unless he wants to provoke the enemy into attacking him. He’s quite strategic and, depending on the opponent, breaks down the opponent’s fighting style and comes up with the perfect strategy within the first few minutes of the fight.

His power is sealed at all times by the lock at the tip of his axe. He’s yet to unlock it in fear of not being able to control it. He’s been in a few dire situations and he still wouldn’t look to his axe for the extra boost. He’s told himself on numerous occasions that he’d rather die than to use the power that he locked away so many years ago.

Zixan uses his element a lot in his battles. In his early years with the Exiled, he always concealed himself within a dense fog and attacked the blinded opponent. He’s quite adept at making clones of himself and his favorite animal, snakes. He’s uses the clones throughout his battles to either buy time or just to kill the enemy altogether without having to lift a finger. He’s never in the same place for too long. What may be the real Zixan one minute could be a clone the next.

Attacks & Abilities:

Spying Fog: This is used for spying purposes. He usually makes it very thin so that people can’t notice it. He usually keeps a thin layer of fog around the Exiled Headquarters so that he always knows what’s going on. He also uses this on larger scale by using the clouds above to keep an eye on the world that he’s currently on.

Vapor Snake: This is basically a snake made of vapor.

Vapor Clone: These clones can look exactly like anyone Zixan sees and can usually take on lesser enemies. They don’t last long in battle against stronger opponents. They can’t use Zixan’s element on their own. These are made with Stratus-level clouds.

Advanced Vapor Clone: These clones are stronger than his regular vapor clones. These have full control over the original Zixan’s element and are more durable in battle. These are made from cumulonimbus level clouds.

Phantom Cyclone: Zixan performs this attack in two different ways with two different levels of power. The first being that he makes the sky cloudy and the cyclones just come from the clouds above.

Phantom Execution: Zixan, himself, turns into a vapor and forcibly enters the opponent’s body through any opening (I.e. mouth, nose, pores, etc.). Once he’s in the opponent’s body, he turns the vapors into sharp spikes of varying sizes that proceed to jut out of the opponent’s body in random places.

Phantom Detonation: This is your basic explosion technique. He gathers and a huge mass of vapor and makes them go boom. He usually uses this technique in conjunction with a Vapor Snake. Basically the vapor snake constricts and restrains the enemy and then explodes.

Phantom Thunder: Unlike his other attacks, Phantom Thunder is launched exclusively from the sky. The dark clouds in the sky form cannons that vary in number. On Zixan’s command, they begin firing cannonballs towards the ground.

Endless Raid: Zixan summons two axes and throws them at the opponent, then another pair of axes appears and he throws those. This pattern continues until Zixan stops it.

Phantom Ceremony: This is Zixan’s most powerful technique. Zixan still hasn’t learned how to fully control this technique, so he uses it sparingly. As he goes to the next stage of the attack, he receives more and more damage, not as much as the opponent, however.

When Zixan starts the attack, he summons replicas of his own axe to surround him and his opponent in a giant circle. While he’s holding his real axe another replica forms in his empty hand. He then attacks using both axes, but what the opponent doesn’t know is that the real Zixan is just a distraction. While the real Zixan’s attacking, the replica axes that are surrounding him are constantly disappearing and reappearing. Meanwhile, the opponent is being covered with small cuts all over his body. This is due to the fact that Zixan is moving his advanced clones at high speeds, attacking with the replicas axes in the opponent’s blind spots. The second stage of the attacks is initiated if the first level doesn’t finish the opponent. In this stage of the attack, the circle of replicas grows into a dome of replicas. This stage of the attack is even faster than the first and the replicas are disappearing and reappearing even faster now. The mysterious cuts on the opponent are getting deeper and more severe. Zixan continues to act as the decoy while the clones do their work. The third stage is initiated when the second stage doesn’t finish the enemy. The dome of replica axes is still present, but only slightly larger in this stage and the only major difference is that the high speed Zixan clones are attacking harder and faster. Now, when their attacks connect with the opponent, a small explosion occurs, which injures the opponent even more. The attack ends with Zixan slashing the opponent down the middle while the dome of replicas fade away.
Nobody Name: Detector
Nobody Description: They sneak up on their victims and assault them from behind. They also act as spy for Zixan.

Chapter Nine: Slave No More Illustration

The crack of the whip shot throughout the deserted farmland. A second crack followed shortly after. I fell to the ground, crying, hands stained with blood. "Get back to work, Zain!" demanded Agatha, my aunt. "I’m too tired, aunt Aggie. I’m only eight years old!" The whip tore into my back once again. My cries went without aid. Five more lashes came down before the hag spoke again. "Are you ready to work now, sweetie?", she asked in a mockingly sweet manner. I nodded my head slowly, tears streaming down my red cheeks. "I want this corn harvested by 7 o’clock. That gives you four hours, so get to work." Once again, I nodded my head. "Yes ma’am." She walked into the house, feeling most dignified.

--------------------------------

For nine years, this was how I lived my life. I would wake up at 4 a.m. and to clean the house. It was a small task and since I do it every day, there’s little to clean. I was to have the house spotless and breakfast prepared by 8 o’clock. I was given the solemn privilege of sitting down and eating with my aunt everyday. Directly following breakfast, the dishes were to be cleaned. By 9 o’clock, I had to go out to the fields and work until aunt Aggie was satisfied, which was usually around 7 o’clock. Around 2 p.m., I had to stop my fieldwork and prepare lunch. I, however, did not get to eat. I was to return to the field until dinnertime. I had to wash up, and have dinner ready by 8 o’clock. I’m allowed to eat with aunt Aggie at this time, as well. Again, I would clean the dishes after the meal. For the rest of night, she made me go to the forest about half a mile north and collect firewood. I wasn’t allowed to stockpile, so it was a nightly duty. I would eventually get to bed around 1 a.m. Three hours later, the process would repeat.

During the day, I would occasionally slack off, and find a place where I would be hidden from my aunt’s view. The only enjoyment that I received was from looking at the clouds and playing with the small snakes in the tall grass. I dreamed of being free, like they were. I wanted to be able to drift away from my troubled life. I wanted to shed my skin and start anew. Looking at the clouds often brought me to tears, because of the thoughts that I drew from them. I knew that I would never be able to attain freedom as long as my aunt was in charge. Oh how I wished I could get away from that witch of an aunt. Oh how I wished that I could be free from this hell.

------------------------

Thirteen years later, that dream was no longer fantasy. It was my 21st year as this woman’s slave. Everything was going as it always had. I was in the process of serving aunt Aggie her lunch when, suddenly, I froze. "What the hell’s wrong with you, boy? Give me my food!" I snapped out of my short trance and handed my aunt her food. I can’t explain what happened to me. I just suddenly realized that my fear was gone. As I took my place on the floor by the backdoor, I realized that it had been this way the entire day.

The night before, I remembered going up to the forest to gather some firewood. It had been an especially trying day. Aunt Aggie had really gotten to me that afternoon with the constant insults regarding my late parents and how they supposedly killed themselves to rid themselves of me. I was pissed, to say the least, but I knew my place and held my tongue. As I walked to the forest up the road, these thoughts constantly entered my head. It’s not the first time that these homicidal thoughts crossed my mind, but this time I really wanted to act on them. I was at the peak of physical fitness and was more than capable of killing her. However, it was my fear that held me back. I remember wanting…no, wishing for a way to overcome it. I remember crying as I chopped the wood. It was tormenting to know that I had the power yet lacked the courage to follow through. I desperately wanted a way to overcome it and that’s when the cold, foreboding darkness swept in. I just thought I blacked out once I had awakened the following morning, but maybe it was more than that.

I picked myself up quietly and crept up behind my aunt. I quickly wrapped my arms around her neck, just as she took a bite, and squeezed. She squirmed like the mice squirmed when I watched the snakes slowly sap the life from them. Her arms flailed as her gags filled the room. The fear was no longer in my mind. In fact, nothing was; I felt no satisfaction, but continued to strangle the bitch that made my life a living hell. I felt the wicked smile form on my lips as I quickly jerked to right. With a small crack, the woman went limp and the room, silent. I let her body drop to the floor as I quietly made my way out of the room and into the heat of the afternoon sun. I wasn’t satisfied. I wasn’t anything. I felt no fear, but now I found that I was devoid of joy as well. However, I didn’t care at the moment. Even without those emotions, at least I knew that I, Zain, was a free man.
