Abraxas- A scary red, horned demon living on a plane parallel to our own. When the opportunity comes around, he can break through the barriers and steal magical objects. His goal is to absorb magical knowledge and destroy Good.
Alchemists- An alchemist can be good or evil. They have to ability to break the laws of Physics in their workings (change properties of matters, alter materials completely... etc). Alchemists are also known to be able to create a life essence- a manufactured version of a human spirit.
Andras- The spirit of rage. He has the power to escalate existing anger into full fledged rage until the victim commits a grievous act of violence. He can also possess his victims. He was vanquished by Belthazor.
Avatars- Little is known about these demons. They are extremely powerful and don't consider themselves good or evil. They have unlimited powers, which they hope to use to shape a future under their control. The last demon to join the circle of Avatars was Cole Turner... although he died soon after. The last magical being to join the fold was Leo Wyatt, who was only a member for a short time. A few years after Cole's death, they succeeded to create a conflict-free Utopia, although it was found that they were killing to maintain this new world. Upon realising that the world was not ready for them, they reversed what they had done and vanished once more.
Banshee- Very rare but demanding demonic screamer. These demons feed on pain: the call of a weeping heart developes into a scream so high pitched that it is out of our hearing range. It causes the victims blood vessels to burst. There is no way to vanquish a banshee, other than to blow it up. One can track a banshee with the aid of a dog. A banshee's scream does not kill witches, it turns them into banshee's- once they have transformed, they can be turned back by resolving their inner pain... but this can only be done before they kill someone.
Belthazor- The demonic soldier of fortune- otherwise known as Cole Turner. He was one of the members of the Brotherhood of the Thorn, but betrayed the side of Evil when he fell in love with one of the Charmed Ones (Phoebe Halliwell). He lost his powers a year later and became possessed by the former Source of All Evil. When the Charmed Ones vanquished him, his human side stayed alive because of his love for Phoebe. He picked up many powers and became invincable in the human world... which turned him into an avatar. Cole's love for the witch, however, was his undoing.
Bosk- A mid-level demon who used a genie to gain a flying carpet and an army. He attempted to raise the lost city of Zanbar, but was vanquished by Ginny before he had the chance.
Brotherhood of the Thorn- Demons just outside the Source's inner circle bound together with a blood oath. Several have died due to the actions of Belthazor and the Charmed Ones, so they are weaker than before. They funtion in the human world by getting a foothold in mortal businesses.
Clyde A malevolent (evil) ghost with the power to allow the living to visit their past. Beware though, when the doorway opens, spirits with unfinished business tend to break through.
Collectors- These demons possess a needle-like index finger, which they use to literally suck the knowledge out of others- whether it is to erase their memories, turn them comatose or simply to have the knowledge for themselves. There is no known vanquishing potion or spell, all you need to know is that their hunger for knowledge is your ally.
Cryto The demon of vanity. He offers people beauty in exchange for their souls. During the 16th century, some witches found him out and skinned him alive. This would prevent him from being resurrected, although it can be done if the summoner is able to create a new physical body for him.
Dark Priest(ess)- An evil version of a High Priest(ess). These dignitaries have the power to shield their activities. If they marry an evil being to a force of good, the good being becomes evil as well.
Darklighters The opposite of a whitelighter. There are several different types of darklighters, but their main goal is to destroy whitelighters and prevent potential whitelighters from following through with their destiny.
Demon of Illusion This demon hides within the realm of illusion. In other words, he hides in movies- specifically horror ones, because of it's target audience. He uses his powers to create violence amoung the film's audience. He can also take murderers out of movies with him (they only know what is on their script so, to get rid of them, you must kill them they way they were killed in the movie). Hint to destroying the Demon of Illusion: If you put a subject under the light too long, it burns.
Drazi- The anti-cupid. His ultimate goal is to tear apart couples that Cupids put together. He has been vanquished by the Charmed Ones.
Dream Sorceror This bad guy is a mortal. He has mastered the art of dream leaping, so he projects into people's dreams and kills them. Keep this in mind when trying to vanquish him.
Eames- This warlock came close to making demon history. He spent years killing particular witches and gained the powers of cloning, transmografication and deflection- he also gained the abilities of a darklighter, which he used to kill a whitelighter called Natalie. He is vanquished by the Charmed Ones with the use of a darklighter arrow and a spell.
Evil Enchantress Paige's past life. She tried to use a love spell on a prince so that she could rule his kingdom with darkness forever. She is no longer a threat as she was bound by the Charmed Ones.
Firestarter A rare and coveted magical creature who can start fires with the power of the mind. They are usually trained to be bodyguards of the Source- but this doesn't necessarily make them evil, unless they follow up on their training.
Frankie and Lulu Two spirits with unfinished business. They robbed a string of jewellry stores in the 1950s, until they were gunned down. Beware if they posses you, as their unfinished business is to get married.
Furies Modern knock-offs of the Furies from mythology. Their MO is the same- they punish evil doers. This doesn't make them good: they'd go after a one time shoplifter as soon as they would go after a serial killer and they take great pleasure in the kill. A Fury's smoke will kill evil doers, but in good people it taps into their unexpressed anger until it consumes their humanity and turns them into a Fury. A newly transformed Fury can be turned back if they express their pent-up anger- but only before they've made their first kill.
Gammill, The Collector- Gammil is an ancient demon who used to attract women to his home, shrink them, coat them in clay and burn them in the kiln. This means he has a collection of one-of-a-kind figurines. He was stopped by a witch who cast a spell to make him as ugly on the outside as he was within, thus prevented him from attracting any women. He eventually created a Gollum, named Finn, in his own image to do the bait capturing for him. When Finn developed a conscience and tried to help Paige, Gammil destroyed him and captured the sisters. Thanks to Paige's orbing power, the sisters escaped and used Gammils wand to shrink him, then they were able to vanquish him.
Genies- These creatures are not evil, but they are tricksters by nature. Whenever one wishes for something, there is always an unforeseen consequence (eg: a man wishes for a new car, and the next day his father will die and the man will inherit the car), the only spell that won't have consequences are ones that are specifically worded and ones to set the genie free. If the genie voluntarily enters the bottle after all three wishes are granted, they can be reversed. However, some demons can be cursed as genies, so be warned if you are to set them free- as if you wish a demon free from the bottle, you will have to replace him/her. Be wary of Ginny- she is an example of a cursed demon.
Guardians, The- These demons help mortal criminals spread evil by protecting them against forces of good in exchange for the souls of the criminal's victims. The criminals carve the rune of the Guardian on the victim's forehead, which channels the souls to the demons themselves.
Guardian of the Urn- The Guardian of the Urn protects an ancient Egyptian urn from thieves. When someone steals the urn, she punishes them for their greed by killing them by either a spider bite, scorpian sting or snake's venom. The only way to save a victim of this Guardian is for them to commit an act of selflessness.
Hecate- The Queen of the Underworld. She comes to Earth every 200 years and spells a mortal to fall in love with her, marry her and concieve a hybrid child. This baby will look human on the outside but would be pure evil inside. The only way to banish her, is for her to be sucked into a special ceremonial knife that is inscribed with the words 'Nec prius absistit quoad protero prodigium', which translates as 'I shall not rest until the demon is vanquished'.
Hollow, and Guardians of- One of the guardians is good and the other is evil. They will spend eternity guarding the Hollow. The Hollow is the strongest force of magic ever- it has the power to absorb powers when they are used against it. The first time it was unleashed, it nearly decimated all the magic in the world. Good and evil compiled their strongest magic together and all they could do was contain it. The Source then tried to use it to steal the Charmed One's powers, but the Seer let it posess Cole so that he could weaken the Source enough for the sisters to vanquish him.Once the Hollow is banished to its crypt, all powers will be returned. If the person who had their power taken was vanquished, their powers will go to the last person that the Hollow resided in before being banished.
Horsemen, Four of the Apocolypse- These demons are hand selected by the Source himself, and they are hired to end the world at a certain time. The last group were instructed to end the world at the precise moment of the new millenium- they must cause war, famine, strife and death to Earth, in hopes to create enough evil to make it crash on itself- but were destroyed by the Source when he realised that there was still too much good energy left in the world to end it. Watch out though, as they will be trying harder.
Javna- A demon who is centuries old, and uses his powers to steal the youth of women. He poses as a hotshot photographer in order to bring the attention of young, attractive women. He then abducts them and sucks away their youth. To be destroyed, a witch must invoke the Hand of Fatima. He has been destroyed by the Charmed Ones.
Jeric and Isis- Jeric is a powerful demon who's power dates back to Ancient Egypt. Back then, they did not have the power to vanquish him, so instead they mummified him alive. An evil witch- Isis- set him free and they became lovers. Jeric's enemies flayed Isis alive as punishment, and he was so wrecked with guilt that he spent centuries trying to find a replacement body for Isis' spirit. Unfortunately, he has to use the body of a witch with enough power to allow Isis to reject the inhabiting spirit, and the more powerful the witch is, the faster they burn out (as two spirits cannot inhabit one body). Jeric and Isis made the mistake of crossing with the Charmed Ones, and now they are most likely burning in Hell.
Kurzon- This vengeful demon was banished by the Source centuries ago, and the Seer tricked him into going after the Charmed Ones- in hopes that he can eliminate the Power of Three and allow the Source to tap into his full power (this would mean that he would suppress Cole completely). He was vanquished by the sisters.
Lazarus demon- As a breed, these demons are not immune to the powers of witches, but they cannot be killed by them. After being subjected to a vanquish, they turn into a pile of ashes and can resurrect themselves. The only way to keep them from doing this is to bury their remains in a cemetary. Do this quickly, as Lazarus demons get stronger, the longer they are outside cemetary grounds.
Libris- This group of demons are alive specifically to target any mortal who is close to proving the existance of demons and warlocks. They can be vanquished by a simple spell.
Lundy, Elias- Elias Lundy was a vengeful ghost, who was after the family of the woman who rejected his love. He was destroyed when the object of his wrath (Martha van Louen) committed suicide, in order to save her grandson.
Masselin- Masselin is a large, skeletal monster who feeds on young women for his survival. Before he was vanquished, he gave a music manager fame and fortune in exchange for potential victims.
Necron- A skeletal being, condemned for eternity to be trapped between life and death. It is because of this that he spent his life seeking immortal beings, so that he could devour their life essence and become immortal himself. He was vanquished by the Charmed Ones, but it is possible that he may come back.
Nicholas- An ambitious warlock who was after the power of the Charmed Ones, but was foiled when the sisters went to the past and warned their grandmother and mother of what he was planning to do. He is easily vanquished with a spell and a spell bag containing lavender, memosa and holy thistle.
Oracle- A powerful being with the ability to see into the future and into other worlds, until she was vanquished by Cole. She was the first to know of Paige's existence and that she could reconstitute the Power of Three.
Powerbrokers- A swarm of demons, who look identical to one another, who sell demonic powers on the demon market. They tend to store powers in unsuspecting mortals- and occasionally witches- to prevent theft. The infected mortal then becomes confused and prone to fits of violence. This builds until the mortal dies, unless the power is pulled out- which can be done by potion or by a power broker pulling it out.
Rat Pack- These demons use mortals to insinuate themselves into our world, by forcing them to launder money and take over businesses. These demons have the power to disguise themselves, and others, as rodents.
Raynor- Leader of the Brotherhood of the Thorn, and Cole/Belthazor's old mentor. He was killed by Cole as a result of him splitting him and Phoebe apart.
Rex and Hannah- These warlocks killed two people in 1998, assumed their identities and took over the Buckland Auction House, hoping to bleed it of all its money. If that's not bad enough, they also tried various times to destroy the Charmed Ones, but failed every time. Rex was killed by Hannah and, in turn, Hannah was destroyed by the Triad.
Scavenger- These demons feed off the remains of other demon's victims.
Sea Hag- The Sea Hag has dominion over the element of water. She also has the power to turn a mermaid into a human- she promises to make them human so that they can find a man who loves them. If they fail by her deadline, they must give up their immortality. She was destroyed by the Auger Shell, which sucks the life out of what ever it has latched onto.
Seekers- These are demonic lie detectors. They feed off the brainstems of whoever they need and take all the knowledge from their mind- nobody survives their tests. They can be vanquished by a simple spell.
Shocker demon- A being made out of pure electricity, who lives in the power lines of its victims. It attacks when its victims use an electrical appliance. Do not touch it, as it will give you a nasty shock. It can be fended off by a witch's power or a non conductor object (eg, a wooden pole). It can be vanquished by a spell, but it requires the Power of Three.
Seer- An upper level demon who receives accurate visions of the past, present and future. She has served many Sources in her time, but her plan to become The Source herself ends up getting her killed. However, there are more Seers in the world- some are good and some are evil.
Seven Deadly Sins- People consumed by sin in life, are cursed to inflict it on others in death. The sins corrupt paragons of Good, which are driven to self destruction. The sin that the victim is most exposed to is the one that is used against them. These are the 7 sins:
- Pride: To feel indestructable and tendancy to undermine others
- Gluttony: To overeat or overdo
- Lust: To be easily distracted by almost any member of the opposite gender (or the same gender, be that the case...)
- Sloth: To be extremely lazy
- Anger: To be fueled by rage at any little thing
- Greed: To want as much as possible- a lot more than what you actually need
- Envy: To feel jealous of everyone that has something you want
The Source of All Evil- The most evil of demons. He is the evil counterpart of the Head Elder, and has a duty to keep the Underworld as orderly as possible. He is impossible to vanquish, other than by the combined power of the Warren line. The Source is usually a upper level demon, who takes an oath on the High Council's Grimoire to receive the full power of the previous Source.
Stillman: Mabel, Mitzi and Margo- Low level sister witches who are consumed with gaining power. However, these girls are petty and easily defeated. They are now imprisoned for commiting murder.
Succubus- She-demons who are afraid of rejection become an embodiment of lust and lure men to their boudoir, where they can suck the men of all their testosterone, killing them. The male version is known as an Incubus.
Tall man- Oral tradition tells of a giant who had the power to consume worlds. The Source was so threatened by him that he imprisoned him in a cage that no magic can escape from. He was vanquished by the combined power of Phoebe Halliwell-Turner and her unborn child.
Tate, Matthew- A warlock cursed by Melinda Warren into a locket. His power is to copy the power of a good witch when it is used against him, which he used to get Melinda's powers and turned her in to the town council. She then cursed him into a locket, where he would spend eternity learning the sting of his betrayal.
Tempus- The demon of time. He is the only one on either side that can manipulate time. There is no known vanquish, but you can defeat him by removing him from the time loop he is in (eg- casting a spell to accelerate time)
Terra- A life essense created by a demonic alchemist. In a need to be free, she escapes from the alchemist's lair and targets the Charmed Ones in order to take one of their places in the Power of Three. She was vanquished by a dispossessing spell, written by Prue Halliwell.
Time Loops- Stories tell of a curse that befalls a town when a huge injustice occurs within it. The day(s) is doomed to be repeated forever, or until the injustice is corrected.
The Triad- An elite trio of powerful demons who answer directly to the Source. They were vanquished by Cole Turner/Belthazor, although they soon resurrected several years later to try and take out the Charmed Ones using another set of powerful sister witches. However, the Charmed Ones vanquished them again- this time, for good.
Tuatha- A good witch who turned evil 300 years ago and used her powers to hurt innocent people. She was intombed in a cave, but was accidently released in 1999. A descendant of the Chosen One (the 7th son of the 7th son of the 7th son... etc) is powered specifically to use Tuatha's wand against her. She cannot be vanquished any other way.
Vampires Who hasn't heard of these creatures? These demons are nocturnal and can take on the form of a bat. In order to survive, they suck the blood out of mortals and witches. Once someone has their blood sucked out, they become a vampire themselves (this is known as siring). If the queen vampire is killed, all her minions die too, and newly sired vampires return to normal (as long as they don't kill anyone). Vampires can be killed by demonic powers (but not witchy powers) or a wooden stake to the heart. They can be warded off by crucifixes, and holy water.
Vinceres- A powerful, unfeeling demon who was cursed to be an empath, until Prue mistook him for an innocent and removed the empathetic power and transferred it to herself. He was vanquished when Prue forced him to feel every emotion that she was channeling, causing him to self destruct.
Vornac- One of the deputy heads of the Brotherhood. Not much is known about him, except that he was vanquished by the Charmed Ones.
Ward, Jackson- A murderer who was executed at Alcatraz in 1963 and escaped in 1998, and attempted to kill anyone connected to his execution. He was destroyed by Prue Halliwell.
Warlocks- These are often viewed as very low level demons. Most of them possess the power of Blinking, which allows them to transport themselves from place to place within the blink of an eye. Their eyes are very sensitive, so a flashing potion or strobe lighting can prevent them from Blinking. Most of them are not immune to witches' powers, and they can be vanquished easily.
Water Demon- A demon who dwells in the water (at Camp Skylark) who kills its victims by drowning them from the inside- two of its victims being Patricia Halliwell and Sam Wilder. It was vanquished by an electric shock.
Wendigo- These are like werewolves. Originally, the main Wendigo was a human who was betrayed by his lover. In his fury, he killed her and ate her heart, turning his own into ice. Other wendigos are made by a Wendigo caused injury, which gets infected by its power. Newly turned Wendigos can be saved by killing the one that attacked them to begin with, but this will only work if the victim has not killed anyone yet.
Wizards- These creatures have been presumed extinct until one came out of the woodwork to prevent the next Source from being coronated. He was killed by the Source's wife, so we can assume that no more wizards exist. We never know- there could be more. Beware: some are good, but some are evil.
Yama- A demi-god from Chinese mythology. Yama guards the gates of Hell and takes souls there if their bodies have not had a proper burial. Despite his high standing, he is affected by the powers of witches.
Yen-Lo- An ex disciple of a Zen Master who passed him over because he used the teachings for evil. He swore revenge on the Zen Master and his daughter, An Ling, and trapped the Master in Limbo. His plan was foiled when the Charmed Ones intervened and managed to trap his soul in the Dragon Blade.
Zahn- The head of the Demonic Soul Auction (where, obviously, the souls of witches and mortals are auctioned), with a large amount of powers. He was vanquished by the Charmed Ones. Most Soul Auctioneers are protected by a clause in their contracts, so those must be destroyed first in order to protect the souls of the captives.
Zanbar- This city did reside in the Middle East, but was swallowed by the sand. Before it did, it was the base for an empire of dark magic. The only way to raise it would be either with a genie's powers or with a substantial amount of magic.
Zankou- One of the most powerful demons in history- the Source was so threatened by him that he was imprisoned in the Underworld. Released by demons to help combat the Avatars, Zankou soon starts going after the Charmed Ones, but ultimately loses the battle when the sisters cast a spell to destroy the Nexus under the Manor.
