Charlwood residents say

Save Our Bottle Bank

Saving our Bottle Bank

In February 2006, Charlwood Parish Council announced that they had asked Mole Valley District Council (MVDC) to remove the recycling centre from the Charlwood Recreation Ground. This website has been created by concerned residents of the village to oppose this action and to ensure that Charlwood maintains adequate recycling facilities.

This was done without any consultation. Many of the village residents are furious that
the Parish Council would consider that taking such action without consulting would be acceptable to the residents of the village.

MVDC have said
"Mole Valley DC are dedicated to increasing our recycling rate and are very disappointed by the decision of the Parish Council."

Where to now ?

We want to ensure that Charlwood has a bottle bank for the use of its residents. One way to do that is to keep the current Recycling Centre in place until an alternative location is found.

There are a number of ways to campaign, including signing our online petition. There is some background information on our Reasons page. And you can hear their side of the story from our Correspondence.

Please feel free to let us know what you think and what you intend to do.

Now get on and do it.
